Just looking for some info please. Submitted complaint to lloyds months ago via fo, had no response from them in writing but was kept updated via telephone to lloyds. Decided it was probably unsuccessful and left it be. However I called them on the 5th and they told me my complaint had been upheld just a couple of days earlier. We have still had no offer letter and my husband has called on numerous occasions to check one has been sent. Is this normal practice for lloyds as my worry is we will have to wait even longer for the chq they said we would be receiving?0

Just had a letter from MBNA, they have upheld my complaint. There is a cheque on its way to me for £224. This has taken less than three weeks. A huge thank you to this site for helping me claim.0

Please can someone advise me what I can do around the following?
Had two of my PPI claims come back in the post today. One from Nationwide stating that they're not upholding my complaint but are willing to pay me back any premiums. And the other from MBNA not upholdinng because I ticked the box for PPI. Is that the end of it for me now then? The MBNA (Virgin) card was over 12 years ago. I would really appreciate some help and guidance. Do I go to the Ombudsman?0 -
Just to clarify,
I knew all those years ago, I was mis sold PPI because with my employer I had an excellent redundancy, sickness, and death in service package and other private accounts / policies which adequately covered me- which all together would have blown most other things out of the water.
However, whenever I took credit I always mentioned this, and I was either told I had to have it, or it was added on anyway !!
Which is why 4 out of 6 of my complaints were upheld.
With the help of MSE. I have only reclaimed money which was mine and shouldnt have been taken in the first place. And with these successes it is now evident it wasn't just a few pounds.
Thank you ever so much MSE - I am over the moon.
And I shall enjoy it. :rotfl:
Total amount reclaimed so far: £6,535 :j:j:j0 -
Hi all.. Hope someone can help me. I sent a request tocapital one asking for a copy of my agreement in relation to my credit card. Onreceiving this it clearly shows that I did tick the box and sign to purchasePPI. However when I initially applied for the card, I was told I would have topre load my card with £200 and purchase ppi if I wanted the card as I had apoor credit rating due to my ex-husband. I was also told that if I didn’t dothis I would not get the card and my credit rating would be further affected. Is it worth me putting a claim in or should I chalk it up to experience?? Thankyou in advance.0

I had my mother stay with me last week...she broke the news that she had had 9k returned to her from a loan that had PPI. So I had a look at my accounts. I found that I have PPI on an Egg card (now Barclay Card - who were able to say that they had all my records) from 2001 with PPI payments on it of about £10,000 ( I did not manage it very well! and also a Mastercard with about £5,000 PPI payments on it from 1996 of which I have all of my records. I am and was self employed at the time I took out the cards. In both cases I was given the impression that if I did not have PPI then I would not receive the cards. Do you think that I have a case and should apply for a refund?0

I couldn't believe it this morning when the postman brought me my letter after barclaycard writing last week to tell me that they were going to take longer I thought I was in for a long wait but not so. My claim was for a card I took out with Littlewoods Personal Finance and was taken over by Barclaycard and to my surprise Barclays letter this morning was to tell me they are upholding my claim and have awarded me £1987.91 :j:j:rotfl: Another great success!!!:D0

Hi all
looking for a bit of advice, I like many others filed a complaint with Lloyds TSB and after the 8 week wait was told by letter today that they had insufficient evidence that my PPI was mis-sold to me, a few days prior to my letter i received a phone call asking why i thought it was mis-sold, my reply was "it was a long time ago and i couldnt rememer what was told to me on the day i took out the loan, the letter also says he is confident the advisor did not mis-lead me in anyway and that PPI insurance was optional and not manditory and on that basis the claim has been rejected....any replies would be greatly appreciated.0 -
bottom line is they lie
this site encourages them to lie
give them a template, chance your arm eh, why not
PPI was mis - sold I agree
One of the last 'claims' I received was from someone who claimed for six months after a fall at work, it saved his home
Still went to FOS mind, still had to pay £500 even though I was proved of no wrong doing.
I pray that these people whose 'family and friends' would help out if they lose their jobs see it that is the truth. If it is as i suspect, I hope the people come and change their locks in the very near future
i can understand your bitterness but i am afraid the banks and others do not look as if they are sorry in anyway to what they have done to people in the past.i am not a chancer i was genuinely miss-sold ppi .so i am sorry for you and your family but there are thousands in a worse state than you and they are genuine.i say thanks to MSE site for highlighting this problem after all this is RIP OFF BRITAIN AFTER ALL JUST GO INTO YOUR LOCAL SUPERMARKET THEY ARE AS BAD AS THE BANKS.I COULD GET POLITICAL BUT I WILL NOT.of course there will be chancers trying it on its happens in all walks of life .THIS IS THE WORLD WE LIVE IN GET OVER IT0 -

Did they tell you that if you want to go any further that you should contact the Ombudsman? If they did then go to the ombudsman. They cannot deny your claim on the basis you ticked the box. Could you have paid this by any other means?
If they have not told you to go to the Ombudsman then reply back rejecting their points and give further details. Others may help you with what you need.celticexplorer wrote: »Do you think that I have a case and should apply for a refund?
Yes you have a case and yes apply. Follow instructions template here.

Did they tell you that if you want to go any further that you should contact the Ombudsman? Then do above.
If not then again follow advice above.
You will need to be able to prove that you did not need the PPI in order to pay the debt and that you could have used other insurance, funds or benefits from work.
