Had a refusal of miss sold ppi from ge money today they stated that a broker sold it and to contact them karaticus c/o freedom finance . Took out secured loan in 2002 repaid once had a settlement figure in April 2004 . I had a permanent illness cover supplied by my then job and also redundancy cover and life cover . Also being joint cover my wife had a pre existing illness that forced her out of work before loan/policy was taken out. I recently found a letter on ge money headed paper dated August 2007 stating that my ppi policy would be expiring then. This rung alarm bells as I thought it would of been cancelled when I paid of the loan in full to their settlement figure in 2004. But ge money claim nothing to do with them and that I should of cancelled ppi when I paid off the loan . Didn't matter what I said they had a smug answer . Then they offered me a satisfaction survey which would Not accept my response . Where do I turn now ?0

You really can only contact the seller in mis-selling complaints. Why do you think the provider should have any liability?
You have to complain to the Broker, as they suggest.0 -
Regarding policy still running after the loan was repaid , ge money claimed that the ppi could of been used for covering any other finance. Which wasn't needed . Is that true as I thought ppi was just for he loan etc that it was taken out on ?0

This is not a mis-selling complaint, of course, and GE should really address this.0 -
Hi to all!!!
just a qww quick question if anyone could help me?
Put in a PPI reclaim for my Halifax Credit Card on 18th June 2012. Basically it got to a point where i was paying £45.00 a month for PPI on my credit Card and cancelled it in 2010 as i was pregnant and wanted to lower my balance.
I remember Halifax telephoning me on my mobile to sell me the insurance in 2006 roughly. I believe it was missold to me.
anyway. I had checked my online credit card account as my statement always comes out on 8th of every month give or take a couple of days. Now we are at the 16th July and my statement hasnt came out. the balance is still sitting as what it was. does this mean anything i.e. are the counting up redress or have froze it until they have resolved complaint? If anyone else is in the same position i would be grateful to hear your experience or if anyone knows why this would be can you let me know??
Many Thanks !!!!:o0 -

Easiest way to find out for sure is to ring them and ask.0 -

Had two of my PPI claims come back in the post today. One from Nationwide stating that they're not upholding my complaint but are willing to pay me back any premiums. And the other from MBNA not upholdinng because I ticked the box for PPI. Is that the end of it for me now then? The MBNA (Virgin) card was over 12 years ago. I would really appreciate some help and guidance. Do I go to the Ombudsman?
Well done on the Nationwide.0 -

I've talked to Barclays and also sent a letter requesting PPI info for both my loan and Credit Card from them. They told me by definite neither of them has got PPI. So I gave up. A few days ago, my husband found some paperwork for the Barclays loan and it clearly stated that there's ppi on it. So we are going to write a complaint letter to FOA and send the copy of the agreement as well. My question here is because I don't have any paperwork for my Credit Card, shall I just leave it? If not, what shall I do? I've been paying the cc for years, totally paying them more than 60,000. So if I have paid ppi on them, it's a lot of money.
You send the complaint to Barclays in the first instance, if you paid the PPI on the loan in with the loan monthly payment then this is Single Premium PPI and this is the reason for mis sell that you use, the unfair rebates and full cost of this PPI were not explained to you fully at the point of sale.
When that claim is sorted, put a complaint into FOS regarding their letter that told you no PPI, you could have accepted their word for this and never know that you had PPI and were mis sold.
If you had PPI on the card then it will show as a single payment every month on the statement, if you have no statements, you could send a Sar request and ask for all info they hold on you, enclose £10, and give them 40 days to respond.

When you get this info back and you had PPI that was mis sold, put a claim in.0
