I was wondering if anybody has had any dealings with intelligent finance? Just wondered if anybody has been successful with them or am I fighting a losing battle?

Some people have been successful from what I have read some have gone to the FOS it is down to the individual case and I am afraid some patience.

To be honest this is something that I am lacking hugely as I sent of my PPI claims the other week and know its could be another 7 before I hear anything else.

So as long as you filled in the questionnaire and gave valid reasons cross your fingers hope for the best and don't attack the postman daily ;)
    CC 1 :- £5800/ £5,800 CC2:-[STRIKE] £4513 / £4513[/STRIKE] CC3: £4622.53/ £4622.53[/STRIKE] CC4:- £8971/ £8971[/STRIKE]
    Loan:- [STRIKE]£1785.63 / £1785.63[/STRIKE] 0

Actual total debt January 2011 £39,451.30 Paid to date 39,375.77
 PPI from HSBC = £4172

    Good luck with your claim.

I can I ask for some advice, I have just found some paper work from a loan provided by GE MONEY it had ppi provided by a company called Priority One Ltd it was front load, the loan was taken out in May 2005 and paid off in Sept 2007, when I contacted Ge Money they said the PPI was front loaded onto the loan the sum paid for the ppi was£7020 joint cover, we were told the ppi would aid our application and that we were unlikely to get the loan without it,we were not told it was optional or that we could purchase the ppi elsewhere. My oh was in the armed services and I work for the public sector both of us had 6 months full pay and 6 months half pay and we both had critical illness/personal accident and life cover in place. Ge said we should contact Priority One as they sold us the PPI, I have found out that Priority One Ltd has been taken over by MBNA, Has anyone had any dealings with Priority One through MBNA and do you think I have enough reasons to send a questionaire in for misselling of ppi. Many Thanks Madcat113

ok guys & gals sorry to be a pain but the more i read yesterday,s rejection the angrier i get.
we all know that many people have been told no ppi no loan. my rejection letter states"i can confirm that it has never been a requirement to take out a ppi policy in order for a loan to be accepted" my oh applied in branch but was then rung at home and told she must have ppi. she replied i,m self employed it,s worthless, or words to that effect. lloyds response was "the loan team wont give you the loan without the ppi.
my rejection letter states she applied for her ppi on the phone on 25 sept 2003. Applied for it!! she didn,t want it.
i realise we may not win any redress for being told you had to have ppi but i feel as if im accused of lying!

The rejection letter goes on to say
" the summary of the policy and the policy booklet, fully explained the benefits and limitations of this policy. i am also of the opinion that where it was practical the
features of the policy were discussed at the point of sale.having considered all the available evidence including the policy booklet, i have come to the conclusion that the features of the policy were adequately presented to you."

So if this is right the guy at lloyds has sat the missus down and said here,s a great policy as your self employed you will never be able to claim on it!! sign here!!
Is this not mis sell or am i totally thick?
I,ve already been given advice to send a copy of my agreement and complain about unfair rebate but the rejection letter states "i have taken into consideration your consumer credit agreement" so have they already looked at this?

Sorry to moan but every time i read that damn letter i get angrier and angrier this was a genuine missell and all we want back is whats ours.

Good luck to any one else trying to get their own money back""

They aren't calling you a liar, the problem is that you have to be able to prove the advisor told you it was compulsory and , obviously, you can't.
It's the weakest kind of PPI complaint, I'm afraid.

As I said, the problem with "hearsay" complaints is they are impossible to prove and the burden of proof is with you as the accuser.

Chance your luck with FOS, you never know, but you'll have a long wait.

Go for it, my friend. They are still pretending that they did not misell in this way, when so many of us know that they did. The Ombudsman will be aware of patterns of behaviour by these companies, if you say it, it may or may not be true, if they have a thousand customers saying they said it, they may react accordingly.

Nothing to lose, go for it

    • Did you get it back after a letter or did you go to the Financial Ombudsman: Initial contact via Egg secure email. Egg followed up with a questionnaire.
My thanks to all posters but especially amersall, your explanation of Front loaded PPI was invaluable.

hi amersall thanks for the advice.
is that all i need or is there any point asking them to re-look at what they,ve already rejected?
i really thought being self employed was enough. you cant claim if you take volunary redundancy but if your self employed how can you "involuntarily" make yourself redundant?

The Single Premium is the reason for mis sell, the unemployment cover is unfair as you have to let the company go under to claim on the unemployment part of this, which is good if your company goes under but not if you have no work for a few weeks or months.

They cannot use this as a reason for mis sell, this is what the FOS say.

"i have taken into consideration your consumer credit agreement" so have they already looked at this?
Regardless of them looking at this, this is Single Premium PPI and this is the reason this was mis sold, this is the most upheld of all PPI mis sells and if they reject again, send it to FOS.
