PPI Reclaiming successes and failures

The card is still active and the ppi was only cancelled 3 years ago
The letter of acceptance that you have is just to show that you took PPI, not that you actually paid it from this point onwards.
See what they come back with, you may get more than you think.0 -
Have been waiting for ages to post on here...i have today finally got an offer from Natwest for a loan from 2002....i am over the moon, good luck to everyone still waiting....i am finally debt free!!!
Hiya i posted earlier today about my offer which i have signed and sent off already, my question is Natwest have already taken 20% tax off my offer and i am now wondering will this effect my working and child tax credits? I think the tax is only paid on the 8% interest and that will make this yearly taxable income increase by 2k...do i need to contact tax credits or will they know as Natwest has paid the tax already? Hope that makes sense.Proud to be DEBT FREE AT LAST0 -
The three (Barclays loan and overdraft and Egg loan) upheld claims I've had so far have not resulted in an "offer" letter as so many other posters are saying they've received. All three were full and final settlement and in the 2 Barclays cases enclosed a cheque. I'm still awaiting the promised Egg cheque.
I find it interesting that some people are getting offer letters, some are not (even though in several instances it's been either Barclays or Egg).
Congratulations to all those who have got their money back and to those who are now debt free or almost. It's scary that it was PPI putting so many of us under financial stress.I incurred the debt, I repaid the debt - all of it!DMP started with CCCS 20/07/2007 Was £32,735. Paid off all my creditors (June 2013) 7 yrs ahead of original DFD.
PPI claims won against Barclays x 2/ Egg x 1/ LV x . PPI claims rejected and then upheld Barclays/Egg x 20 -

Burbage_Fox wrote: »Could someone please help with this query. I have sent in 2 PPI claims one from 2005 and one from 2001, If they get rejected can I go to the financial ombudsmen due to the age of them ?
Thanks in advance.
Hi some good news the 2005 claim has been upheld so thanks to all.
I would welcome any help on this though..
The 2001 claim : Yorkshire Bank have said that "Due to the time elapsed; we are unable to investigate this loan further."
"If you are in possession of the original loan agreement, can you arrange to send these to us, in order that we can re-view and investigate your complaint further."
I originally sent photo copies of the personal credit application and credit agreement/terms and conditions (obtained via a SAR) to them when I submitted my original claims.
Any advise would be welcome as my thoughts at present are:
1:Re submit back to them the photo copies of the personal credit application and credit agreement/terms and conditions.
(could they has miss placed them or do they need something else)
2: Send to Financial Ombudsmen.
If I accept the offer for the 2005 claim will I lose the other claim ?
Thanks in advance for your support0 -

HI all,
just a quick update on my remaining claims and a request for some more advice
Firstly the good news, having been surprised earlier this week when I returned home to find a cheque for £7122 pounds for one of my claims against MBNA, that had been with the FOS since the turn of the year. AS this was handled by a claims company I called them to discuss as the cheque did not mention any breakdown etc. They told me that I should expect another cheque for the second card also, but they did not know how much this would be for either or how they were broken down. I know Curiosity killed the cat, but I cannot wait, do you think if I call MBNA they will tell me what the break down was and how much the second Cheque is for?????
Secondly, I have been getting the run arodund on a loan that I took out with First Plus in 2007. To cut a long story short, This has been to first plus, to the FSCS, to broker network and then to Central Capital and it has taken 8 months to this point. I have sent the details/letter/questionairre to Central trust by Email today. I am looking into this one on my own and not through a claims company so I am interested to know what options I have.
My question is this, If they give me the run around also who should I go to next?
The more people are pushing me away on this, the more determined I am to chase it through, and I want to know the options I have when this is next passed around. This loan was taken at a time when I was on the bones of my Behind, and I was not in the position to argue, and I feel I was pushed into route of taking the insurance as a means to get the loan, and I was not told the full cost it would be. I am sure more than any other case that I have won to date that this was miss sold.
Any advice would be greatly received.

Who was it that sold you the PPI? I take it it was not whoever you got the loan with. My understanding is that you have to take it up with the agency/bank that sold you the ppi which is not always who you got the loan from.CC 1 :- £5800/ £5,800 CC2:-[STRIKE] £4513 / £4513[/STRIKE] CC3: £4622.53/ £4622.53[/STRIKE] CC4:- £8971/ £8971[/STRIKE]Loan:- [STRIKE]£1785.63 / £1785.63[/STRIKE] 0

my oh had a loan with lloyds in 2004 repaid 2005
loan repayments & ppi were paid in 1 amount monthly i assume this is single premium / front loaded.
she was then & still is self employed.
she was then and still is asthmatic
she knew ppi was useless to her and did not want it but was told without it she would not get the loan she was told this was because it was her second loan in 18 months. she did not want to consolidate the 2 loans as the second one was for her son ,oh made the repayments son re-imbursed her. she did NOT have ppi on the first loan as she knew it was useless.
ppi tick box was already ticked .
there was a element of ppi rebate when the loan was repaid but
we thought we would try and reclaim whats due.
today we recieved a rejection letter, they have said they will reconsider with any further evidence by phone or mail.
any ideas / suggestions please.
i thought this would be the easiest of our 5 claims and want to get my response right i dont fancy the fos wait
any help much appreciated & thanks for taking the time to read this0 -

A single premium front loaded PPI is when you pay all the PPI upfront at the start of the loan.

What did you put in the letter to Lloyds as your reasons for miss-selling? Did you follow the template on here?
ppi tick box was already ticked .
Do you have a copy of this?
You might find a few more answers on here.
