As ever, it depends on why they rejected your complaint in the first place and whether the "further evidence" you have provided is enough to sway them. Since you've told us nothing, you shouldn't be surprised when we reply with nothing!

    • What were you reclaiming: PPI on a Loan
    • Who was the provider: Egg
    • How much did you get back: £1700
    • Did you get it back after a letter or did you go to the Financial Ombudsman: Initial contact via Egg secure email. Egg followed up with a questionnaire.
My thanks to all posters but especially amersall, your explanation of Front loaded PPI was invaluable.

Egg were very fast, I returned my questionnaire two weeks ago and the letter upholding my complaint was dated a week and a half later!!
  • Hi everyone.

About 8 weeks ago I sent my complaint to Yorkshire bank for the PPI I had on 2 loans and a credit card.

The loans were front loaded with PPI and dated back to 2004 and 2005.

I was unsure if I was able to claim as i had signed for the PPI but the salesperson told me that if i did not take it i would not get the loan.

Anyway both claims on the loans have been upheld.

Also i had PPI on the Credit Card that i didnt know about and that was upheld too.

I have accepted the offer from the bank and am now eagerly awaiting a cheque for £3551.

Thanks to everybody for their advice on this site. it is very easy to do. took me less than an hour to fill all the paperwork out. Now time to go holiday shopping
  • Hi Guys,

Have been a follower for a while now and im slightly obsessed with checking this site every chance I get.

So far i have had 2 claims upheld. MBNA £1800 AND Egg Loan £1800. Egg cc was refused, but am in process of replying back with a response!

I have just recieved a letter from Santander for MPPI that was taken out in 2001. They have sent me a breakdown of the payment I am due.

Can someone that is in the know tell me if its correct?

Total monthly premiums £1290.96 (this is about right)
    Interest 8% £795.99
    Total premiums + interest £2086.95

    Is this right??

Thank you guys so much and am awaiting your reply!:j

Still to hear from HBOS, Blackhorse and Capital One!

I was very vague in my initial letter as I thought I would have to fill in a questionnaire so I only said that I felt I was mis sold as the bank employee told me it was a condition of th e loan. Anyway in my "further info" I stated I had full employee cover 12 months full pay, redundancy protection, bupa, life ins and critical illness cover, front loaded ppi etc...

I was just wondering how long i should give them to reply as they had replied within the 8 weeks, but. Ow I'm in week 10 :-( and are they likely to change their minds?

As you've now asked them to reconsider, they are no longer governed by the eight week timescale they have initially. On the positive side, it means you can go to FOS now and not wait for their response. On the negative side FOS will likely take a whole lot longer.
It's your call, as there is no way to predict whether the Bank will ultimately uphold your complaint (although your further evidence is strong)

  • Ive been reading this site for ages and just want to say a massive thankyou to those that take their time to help people like me to understand the process.
I have 3 claims in with Lloyds-2 of which have been rejected and i sent a letter back last week with some more information. One SAR request with Natwest and 2 claims with Intelligent finance.

I was wondering if anybody has had any dealings with intelligent finance? I had two loans with them (2004 & 2005). I do not have any paperwork but payments are on my bank statements quoting my ref number which I sent to them last week with the questionnaire and template letter from this site. Just wondered if anybody has been successful with them or am I fighting a losing battle?

One again, thank you to everyone that offers advice on this forum, by the sounds of it, you have helped a lot of people! Just hope I can post a success story at some point!

hi amersall thanks for the advice.
is that all i need or is there any point asking them to re-look at what they,ve already rejected?
i really thought being self employed was enough. you cant claim if you take volunary redundancy but if your self employed how can you "involuntarily" make yourself redundant?
