hi jdwmfc thanks for the quick reply.
yes i used the template of here and filled it in after weeks of following others and trying to learn from all the helpful replies.
reasons for mis-sell were,
1-front loaded the ppi + interest was added on the loan she paid 1 monthly payment which covered both.is this front loaded?
2-self employed.
3-pre-existing medical conditions were never discused
4-told no ppi no loan. hearsay i know but the fact she previously took out a loan without ppi should carry some weight.
5- box was pre-ticked. yes we still have the loan aggreement showing this
I thought we had a reasonable case.0 -
Secondly, I have been getting the run arodund on a loan that I took out with First Plus in 2007. To cut a long story short, This has been to first plus, to the FSCS, to broker network and then to Central Capital and it has taken 8 months to this point. I have sent the details/letter/questionairre to Central trust by Email today. I am looking into this one on my own and not through a claims company so I am interested to know what options I have.
Have FP given you the broker details and CP info? this is madness, I don't see how broker network and CP sold the PPI, it should be one or the other.
They must know who actually sold you this PPI.
Keep at this, you have done the hard work and it would be a shame if this got the better of you and you paid a claims co for the sake of hanging on.0 -
i thought this would be the easiest of our 5 claims and want to get my response right i dont fancy the fos wait
Tell them that the full cost over the term of the loan for this Single Premium PPI and the unfair rebates that are applied were not explained in full at the point of sale for you to make an informed decision, had you known what this PPI would have cost, you would not have taken it0 -
ARRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!
NatWest told me they sent a offer letter out on 3rd July. Still dont have it. Apparently they send them second class but surely it should be here by now. Called them Monday and a nice man said he would send another one out.
I asked that seeing as they have the letter could they fax it to my local branch but they cant do that.
I'm moving abroad in less than 4 weeks and wanted it all sorted. :mad:0 -
As a matter of interest, is someone at MSE Towers keeping a running total of successful claims on this thread?
I'm just wondering how much Martin's groundwork has cost the British banking industry...I'm dreaming of a white Christmas.
But, if the white runs out, I'll drink the red.0 -
OK I finally received my offers (6 altogether) totalling just under £17,000. I didn't realise that I have to pay tax on the interest as I was expecting over £18,000 but still, can't complain really.
This means I will now be able to pay off my loan and be in the region of £500 a month better off, as well as get a new carI have sent back the offers and am now waiting for the payment to go into bank.

Just wanted to post a big thank you to Martin and his team. Have just received a letter informing me that we are due a repayment of over £3ooo . We took out a loan in 2004 with Alliance & Leicester and thought it would be a big hassle to try and reclaim missold ppi,but after reading other success stories decided to try. All it took was one phone call two weeks ago,and now we are thrilled to get back much needed money. Thankyou once again for your great work.:j0

After success with two loans (NatWest and Egg), I decided to see if I could claim on two credit cards that once had PPI on them, Virgin and Mint (taken out when it was RBS Advanta).
I had the originally paperwork for the Mint card but only old statements for Virgin (in both its Virgin Money and Virgin Card incarnations) which showed PPI being paid. After checking on here if an old statement was enough, I sent it off with the questionnaire filled as much as possible along with a cover letter.
After reading the various MBNA tales here, I wasn't surprised to get a letter from them which enclosed a blank questionnaire and a request for me to fill it out (which I ignored as I'd already sent one). What was even more surprising was to get another letter two days later to apologise about the fact that a decision would be delayed. After this I expected to hear a negative response.
Cut forward to today and I've just received a letter from them agreeing to uphold my complaint and that it would take them up to 12 weeks to calculate what I was owed. :T
I still have a balance on the card so I assume any payout will first be against that with anything left over sent separately.
Happy daysAs ever, thanks to all who responded to my original queries.

Hi all, I had my claim rejected, had 28 days to provide further evidence, did that, how long can I expect to wait for an update? It's been 2 weeks now.....getting nervous as I don't know whether they ever over turn their initial decisions? Thanks x0
