Remove this, you have no rights regarding their reconsideration timescales. You do, however, have six months to forward your complaint to FOS, so you can afford to be more patient.

This is why I requested advice. Very disheartening that I may have to wait 6 months for their response, before potentially waiting another year.

    Thanks for your quick reply.

No, I said you have six months in which to forward your complaint to FOS now that you have had a full and final response from the Bank. You can't demand that they reply within 14 days, especially as they were allowed eight weeks to respond to your initial complaint.

Prepare yourself for a long haul...
  • Thanks to Money Saving Expert I have successfully been refunded £1110 from Blackhorse on a loan I took out in 2005... The loan was for £2000 and the PPI cost was around £700... I toyed with the idea of reclaiming for the past couple of years thinking I wouldn't stand a chance... Then after visiting MSE I decided what the heck! I downloaded the template form from the site and within 4 weeks had my response, which was successful.. I didn't even need to contact the Ombudsman...

So for the price of that stamp, go for it...!! :j

Came home from a weekend away this morning to find a letter from RBS. I took out 2 loans between 2002 and 2009 for 5k and 8k respectively. I thought i would try and claim on the PPI but didnt hold out much hope of success.

I received an offer from RBS for £6,739.09.

    WOW!!

I have gone from being in debt to debt free and with some extra spending money and all it took was to fill in a questionnaire.

new to this, but thought i would share my success. I presently have 4 claims in - MBNA cc, Capital One CC, GE Money store card and Mastercard CC. I found some old CC statements whilst have a clear out never really realised there was PPI on them, so thought that i would give it ago. Sent questionnaire off and copy of statements to MBNA and Capital One on 8 June. MBNA acknowledged this within 5 days, Cap One, not quite as quick. I was really shocked yesterday to get a decision upholding my complaint from MBNA which was less than 4 weeks. GE Money was only sent last week, but acknowledged yesterday. On with the MAstercard now which in fairness i wasnt going to claim against. This account is still active whereas the others aren't, but i rang to cancel the policy as it clearly states on my statement as optional payment protection, thought no more of it but they have written me with a questionnaire to complete, do they know something I don't and should I pursue it?

Am still in shock at MBNA upholding so quickly, have a feeling from posts on here Capital One will end up at Ombudsmen, but if thats what it takes!

And a big fat raspberry to claims companies, cost me £1.85 per questionnaire (recorded delivery) and a bit of time, you dont need them, just a bit of research it can be done

    Hi
im waiting for mbna to respond, they should have done so by the 6th july, can i just how you applied for your cc, i applied in 2003 online, im hoping that i had a pre ticked box.
    WELL DONE

Thanks for your response, I would appreciate anyones insights to the response I have drafted this evening. In perticular is my request of a response in 14 days fair?
This is ok, but you need to take off the "14 days " just let them deal with this as moneyineptitude said.
