  • Has ANYONE had any success with claiming on Eggcard or Barclaycard? I am waiting on both (have received letters saying there is a delay, they are still investigating etc). I know I got the Eggcard on line, but I cannot for the life of me recall how I got the Barclaycard. I do know it was the 1st credit card I've ever had in this country, so I would have blithely ticked everything, being ignorant of what I SHOULD have ticked (or not).
I incurred the debt, I repaid the debt - all of it!:o DMP started with CCCS 20/07/2007 Was £32,735. Paid off all my creditors (June 2013) 7 yrs ahead of original DFD.
    PPI claims won against Barclays x 2/ Egg x 1/ LV x . PPI claims rejected and then upheld Barclays/Egg x 2

My other half has just had a complaint upheld and an offer of £1900 from Bank of Scotland. It was sold face to face, in the branch, as a single premium policy. The offer consists of a return of premium, plus the interest that was charged, plus 8% simple interest, less an amount paid out during a claim.

The process was very quick, less than six weeks.
    Onwards and upwards! :rotfl:

We have today had a letter upholding 1 of our barclaycards but the other was rejected so will be sending of to the FOS monday. Took ages to get the uphold reply though seem to be quicker dealing with rejections, no surprises there really!
  • Folks two succesful claims ,

Blackhorse last week for £1100 . loan still in place on this one.

Lloyds TSB , complained on 2 loans back to 2005, thinking of the 6 year rule here, seems Lloyds did a sweep on my name back to , wait for it 1993 . PPI reclaim total value £18000 !!!. Much to my surprise and delight.

Folks this took me two phone calls !!!!. I only had to fill out a form for Blackhorse.

On both telephone calls , I was asked why i was reclaiming. I told them that I have never claimed on any PPI in my life, took PPI as I thought it would help me get the loans. Have been employed by same employer fo 30 yrs , have a company pension which includes death in service , so did did not need. One of the loans was a consolidation loan through Lloyds own support unit, again they sold me PPI which could have saved me £38 a month + interest on the loan. Not really that helfpul were they !/

Anyway what I am saying here is, check the bank website, there you will find how to contact them to complain, like me it maybe just a phone call. It took them 10 weeks to reply ! I now await the cash .

IT IS YOUR MONEY ASK FOR IT BACK !!

Having read Martins advice about claiming back PPI, I decided to give it ago, and i'm so glad i did. I sent a letter to Barclays and Sainsbury's and yesterday (7 weeks later) I had a letter from Barclays making me an offer of just over £2000 for mis sold PPI. I'm waiting to hear back from sainsbury's so i'll post again on here if i'm successful.

Everyone needs a little help sometimes :T

Successess So Far Thanks To This Wonderful Site

    First Plus PPI Claim £9847.98
    Halifax CC PPI £3117.58 :money:
  • Having actually claimed on my policy a few years ago, it wasn't with any real hope I sent off my complaint (that they hadn't told me that I could take out a policy against my mortgage with any other supplier).

Wrong! Full refund of 20 years worth of premiums plus interest, less the payout I received. Just short of £10k. That'll cover the endowment shortfall.

    Thanks, Martin.
I'm dreaming of a white Christmas.
But, if the white runs out, I'll drink the red.

Loan taken out around 2002 with Natwest. Refinanced a number of times and paid off in 2008, after redundancy, I then closed my account with NatWest
I was told that I had to take PPI or I wouldn't get the loan. My job paid 6 months on full pay and 6 months half pay sickness benefit, so PPI was unnecessary.
    The PPI was front loaded.

I didn't think I qualified for refund as I had claimed on the PPI a couple of times. I discovered on here, that, that was irrelevant.
All I had was my old bank account number and ONE loan reference number.
I completed the template letter from here and NatWest received it on 2nd May. 3 weeks later I got an acknowledgement.

Today, I have had offers totalling £10,751. This includes interest and tax paid.

A massive thanks to all concerned. :T :j

Another 2 letters in post yesterday offering a further £7779.00

That was a big surprise! My loan had been consolidated a number of times and I had also claimed on the insurance a couple of times. So, from thinking that I wasn't eligible to apply for a refund and reading these threads, I have got back over £18,000.

Thanks to ALL contributors and Martin. :T
