PPI Reclaiming successes and failures

I had previously submitted 3 claims with 3 different banks for PPI and all 3 have gone in my favour.
So far I have got a refund of £1200 from Santander, £1200 from Barclays and have received a letter from MBNA stating that they have found in my favour and will now work out what they owe and arrange payment within the next 8 weeks!!!
All this done by using the templates and advice from this site - DO NOT use a PPI reclaim company you can do it all on your own:j0 -
Sorry to hear this, ask them to offer a goodwill gesture for this loan, it is worth a try, if you don't ask, you don't get and you will not be in any worse a position than you were before if they say no.
Thanks for advice I'm gonna try for a goodwill gesture!!!! Will update with any info...0 -
After reading how to claim back ppi on MSE I decided to give it a go, used the letter templates etc etc from the website & sent them off on the 1st May 2012, I was claiming back mortgage ppi which was taken out in 1998 with the then Abbey National now Santander, Today I have recieved a letter offering £12455 compensation which is £8503 in monthly payments & £3952 in interest from 1993, I'm well pleased with this & will accept the offer.
I had no problems at all, Santander sent me 2 letters about the progress & then the offer, it is well worth a try, thanks MSE.0 -

Wow that's fantastic. May I ask what your reasons for mis sell were?

I would like to thank everyone on this forum!!! After reading the PPI successes on this website I checked my paper work for previous loans, credit cards etc. I was surprised to find that I was also paying PPI which I did not need. I sent the form available on this site and so far I have won...
£669 on an old egg loan. The complaint was upheld back in May, but I'm still awaiting the cheque from them!!
Yesterday I received a letter from Barclays upholding my complaint on my barclays overdraft PPI. :T Like many people, I always assumed this fee was part of having an overdraft because I have paid it since day one. £2008.79 will be transferred to my bank account on receipt of my acceptance form.
I am still awaiting a few responses on credit cards.
Thank you again :T0 -

Only waiting on 2 claims now: Barclaycard and Egg Card.
Total owing to the tax man so far is £292.89 which I will give him with pleasure as I have received (and paid off on my debts) £5961.48. I shall now be debt free in 12 months instead of 2 years!
If there's anyone out there who knows someone who is in debt, and who HASN'T attempted to claim yet, be a true friend and persuade them to do it! Reading this thread, there are so many of us who are now debt free or nearly there, just by claiming back PPI! It's a new, fresh start
Congratulations on your win:beer:0 -
:j:jCongratulations to all this weeks winners:beer:
For those still waiting for news keep positive:D
And for those who are thinking about putting in complaints... just DO IT:)0 -
Hello, any advice on where to go next?
I took a Lloyds credit card out in 2004. Went to local branch for help to fill in the long winded form. I was told "you must tick the box for insurance or they will probably reject it".
Complaint sent to Lloyds - response - as it was sold before 2005 and we where not regulated by the FSA then. So go away.
Is it worth writing back to Lloyds pointing out that they have paid others for mis-sold PPI which was taken before 2005 or is the only remaining option some kind of claims court?
I've read similar posts where Lloyds have actually contacted customers with pre 2005 PPI and refunded them.
So are Lloyds just being picky or is the only remaining option to provide evidence and take them to court?
Also the complaint I sent requested that my PPI be cancelled with immediate effect or if they cannot then to advise me who I need to contact to cancel the PPI.
Needless to say 9 weeks after acknowledgement by Lloyds of the letter asking for PPI to be cancelled they are still charging for it!!
Can i go into the local branch and remove £20+ worth of equipment to cover the cost of last months unwanted PPI which they where told not to take?!?
Thanks.Sir yes sir, sir?0
