So I do need to keep chasing up the terms and conditions? I'll send off the new letter again.
I don't understand what you mean by 'reasons for miss sell'? From what he's told me, he just received the card, and activated it, and started using it. It's very unlikely someone sat down with him and told him what he was agreeing to in lamens terms.

You have the account number so put the claim in.
This PPI is on every statement each month so he knew that he had it as when it was activated this is the time that they sell this PPI to card users, as he was a student it is possible that he did not work many hours or even none at all, this would be a reason for mis sell as he could not make a claim on the unemployment part of the PPI.
Put the claim in and see what they come back with.

hi i have a LTSB current account and a few years ago(not sure when) i was in finacial difficulty so blackhorse had offered me a loan to pay back the bank what i owed. They took out a certain amount every month, but i cant remeber how much and i checked my bank statements and cant see any of this? Now where on earth do i start to make a claim and with what information. so so sorry to ask, but im thinking i may as well look into this. Also i have had a few catalogues. Do i just write to them? Help :) any help please inbox me if i dont see this xx:(

Call Black Horse or pop into a local branch, they may be able to find this loan.

Got a letter from Barclays this morning about my overdraft protection claim. It's taken them seven weeks but...

    Complaint upheld!

That's nearly £1800 coming back to me. That's enough for me to get my business up and running again. Thanks to MSE for making it easy and to my girlfriend, dear of her, who kept on and on at me to look for any PPI claims I could make which I didn't think I had at first.

Write back to Barclays and reject this, they cannot say you had literature to read concerning the PPI to use as a rejection, show that you had no need for this PPI and could pay the card should the worst happen ie sick pay and life insurance.

    Hello Amersall,

Many thanks for the advice - I will write back to Barclays and see where that goes.

    Cheers!
  • Just received an offer from Lloyds for a credit card for £588, this was for an account which was opened in 1999 and closed a few years later, I didn't have any of the details, I just filled out the questionnaire and 8 weeks later the offer arrived.
I also sent a questionaire to Egg on behalf of my partner and he has just received an offer for £3300 and sent one to Lloyds on belhalf of my Mum and she has an offer for £2320 from various loans. Thanks to everyone who contributes to this forum for your expert advise, I can't believe how easy this process has been!:T

I think they'll still say you mis-bought rather were mis-sold, due to you having voluntarily filled in an application form without any input from Bank staff. I've yet to see concerns about PPI literature translate into a successful mis-selling complaint.

My wife made a claim on behalf of her mother and got back £3460.00 back about 18 monthsago

I remembered I had a loan with Lloyds about 16 years ago but no paperwork. I popped into a local branch and asked for a print out of any accounts I had with them, it turns out I had three. The lady in the branch gave me the phone number and one phone call and 6 weeks later I got a cheque for £9220.96
