Loan taken out around 2002 with Natwest. Refinanced a number of times and paid off in 2008, after redundancy, I then closed my account with NatWest
I was told that I had to take PPI or I wouldn't get the loan. My job paid 6 months on full pay and 6 months half pay sickness benefit, so PPI was unnecessary.
    The PPI was front loaded.

I didn't think I qualified for refund as I had claimed on the PPI a couple of times. I discovered on here, that, that was irrelevant.
All I had was my old bank account number and ONE loan reference number.
I completed the template letter from here and NatWest received it on 2nd May. 3 weeks later I got an acknowledgement.

Today, I have had offers totalling £10,751. This includes interest and tax paid.

A massive thanks to all concerned. :T :j

  • Natwest made me some offers(loan restructured a few times)
Started getting money back today, but with out the interest?!

Is this right? or have they made a mistake?

Basically, they have given me the amount i paid and not the offer amount.

sometimes they send two cheques, one with the ppi amount and then a separate one with the interest amount. Hope this helps.

I dispute that the information provided was suitable and I will be taking the claim to the ombudsman.
Write back to Barclays and reject this, they cannot say you had literature to read concerning the PPI to use as a rejection, show that you had no need for this PPI and could pay the card should the worst happen ie sick pay and life insurance.

Further to my previous post about Barclays sending me a scruffy handwritten cheque for £243,32, with no breakdown in the letter, I phoned them today, and discovered that they had inadvertently forgotten to send it! In fact the PPI total payout was £1462.22 and the cheque was for the 8%. The rest was offset against my current balance.

Very chuffed! Thanks to the advice given on this forum, my debtfree date has reduced by 10 months in the space of 5 days!

Replies still awaited for 3 more claims (not holding out much hope on those as they are credit cards).

Special thanks to amersall, dolphingazer and moneyineptitude for their amazing patience, answering the same questions over and over again. :iloveyou:
I incurred the debt, I repaid the debt - all of it!:o DMP started with CCCS 20/07/2007 Was £32,735. Paid off all my creditors (June 2013) 7 yrs ahead of original DFD.
    PPI claims won against Barclays x 2/ Egg x 1/ LV x . PPI claims rejected and then upheld Barclays/Egg x 2

Could someone please help with this query. I have sent in 2 PPI claims one from 2005 and one from 2001, If they get rejected can I go to the financial ombudsmen due to the age of them ?

    Thanks in advance.

See what they reject on first and if it is a final response from the banks, let us know.
