Im needing some good advise,an iknow this is the rite place to ask!!

    5 loans with Barclays
The last 4 have been upheld and payed out, now the first 1 also has front loaded ppi all circumstances are the same (job 6 months full pay 6 months half pay) I have no policy no or documents, as this was taken out in 1996 they only have records until 1998.
I thought they may have given me a goodwill offer seen as we have been missold on mortgage loans and overdraft.
I would really like to send a strongly worded email to them( I've done this on a rejection for overdraft an they have now reopened that case again)any help would be great im not the best at putting into words how I feel about Barclays at the moment..
  • Hi All,

Just thought I'd post my little bit of success on here....

Finally decided to go for the PPI reclaims, been on the sight many times downloaded the letters, filled them in and never sent them off thinking it was too much hassle or I'd get rejected and it'd cause me more problems than it was worth. But with an upcoming wedding to pay for I thought its got to be worth a shot.

I contacted Santander regarding a loan I had with Alliance & Leicester from 2004 - 2009 and had PPI for the duration of the loan, initially this was done by phone as they now take complaints this way.

I didn't have the agreement number for the loan so it couldn't be started straight away and was told to write to a seperate department to get this, again I thought I was being fobbed off and it was a way of trying to put me off the hassle. I sent the letter off and got the agreement number 2 weeks later! Result!!

Back on the phone to Santander, told the complaint had been opened and I'd get a letter saying it was being investigated and hopefully a response with 8 weeks.

2 Weeks later, letter through saying the investigation was completed and a full refund plus 8% interest, giving a nice total of £4979.50

Not bad for the cost of a stamp and a phone call, probably the easiest £5k I'll ever get!! Just sent the letters off to Barclays and Egg now I'm in the zone!!

Good luck to everyone else and thanks MSE!!!!:T:T:D

My wife and I have numerous complaints going through with LloydsTSB, one for a mortgage, one for a credit card and quite a few for different loans.

I received a letter declining the one for the mortgage about two weeks ago and have sent this to the FOS.

I then received a letter last week saying their looking into all the other ones.

I then received a letter today with the reference on it for the credit card complaint and they have upheld my complaint and are putting £854.45 into my account in the next 28 days. This is fantastic news for my wife and I.

I presume that the other loans are still being looked at and this wasn't for everything but it is hard to work out.

Fingers crossed for more wins. Thanks for all your help to Martin and all of you guys. Without you and all your help I would never of even bothered.

    THANKS again!!!

As this was over 7 years ago it is possible, especially with HSBC, that this data has been destroyed, call them and ask if they can find you, or if you have a branch local to you just pop in and ask.

If the first loan was paid off with the second one, write back to them and ask that they offer something on this loan PPI as when it was settled (if it was ) the remaining PPI after the rebate would have been put onto the second loan.

Unfortunately it wasn't,very nice lady from the bank has been trying to find a statement to prove that we've at least payed a payment but she can only go back to 1997, she said she may be able to find something with our old address ,not looking good.
It was only a loan for £2000 but we got into financial trouble 3 years ago and all ppi refunds have gone to pay off our outstanding loan with them, this last 1 would have completely cleared it.(would have been a nice feeling). Thanks for your advice

Hi all, this is my first post and I would like some advice please. I sent a standard letter on 8th may to lloyds ref cc and loans. Unfortunately I didn't read this site first and was a bit vague in my letter stating I felt I was mis sold because of pressure from the bank staff etc.. I tout they would send me a questionnaire where I could be more specific!? . Anyway the letter came back rejecting my claims due to the fact that this was not a condition of the loan etc ... Then I read this forum! I then rang ltsb to inform them of my further info as requested in the letter within 28 days. I have always been employed, 6 months sickness etc, critical illness and life insurance policies. Periods of self employment. I sent the emails and have received confirmation today....does anyone have any idea if it's possible for them to change their minds after an initial rejection letter?

I shall be claiming for my mortgage pp and other loans etc.. But I shall definitely be using the template letters on this site! Keep up the good work!
