Hi
Yes you can, if you know the account number go for it.
I was successful with reclaims as from the mid 90's approx 1995 onwards with mine via Lloyds.
Good luck.;)

MBNA success
I too assumed that I wouldn't have been a PPI mis-selling victim because I also always ticked "no" to any additional insurances/charges but when looking through some old paperwork, I found an statement from MBNA which showed an insurance charge. (Have to admit that at the time, I normally just scanned the statements and ensured I paid the minimum, so had a balance of around £2k for a number of years before paying it off.)
I sent off the standard letter, and when my original agreement was returned, sure enough I had ticked the no box for insurance.
Filled in the questionnaire, and sent it off at the end of May. Monday I received a letter telling me I was due a refund, and today a cheque for £6,500 arrived!
:-)
Congrats on your success. You may be able to help.
I had a loan with MBNA of £15k that I took out in 2003. I have received a cheque for £2938 last week but there were no calculatons. Just a cheque. I am grateful but I received nearly twice that from Egg for a loan of £12k.
I guess I am interested in your loan amount?
Understand if you do not wish to reveal.
Thanks0 -
I just wanted to say a massive thank you to Martin and for all the people who have contributed to PPI threads on this site.
I was verging on passing the claims on to one of the firms because I thought it would be a lot of hassle but after reading the threads and the guide to re-claiming, for the price of a few stamps, I figured it was worth a try.
I put in 5 complaints to Lloyds around 8 weeks ago- 4 loans spanning back 10 years and a credit card.
This morning, they've paid £3800 into the bank account.I'm not sure what it relates to because I've not recieved any paperwork yet but to say I'm happy is a bit of an understatement.
Thank you so much for such a wonderful site.:money:
I just wanted to expand on this.
The £3800 was relating to 3 of the loans that they had lumped together. :j
The 4th loan was a fairly recent one (2009) that we are still paying back and it had a separate PPI policy so I wasn't holding my breath- We have tried to cancel the PPI twice but the paperwork didn't come through and I was passed around departments.
However, as 'a goodwill gesture' Lloyds have agreed to pay back all the PPI on this loan aswell, plus interest... if we cancelled the PPI policy! Hmmm! :rotfl:
I'm not sure what the total amount will be but I think it's somewhere in the region of around £2000. :j
We've also had a verdict on the credit card. I really didn't expect anything to come of that one because it seemed that not many people were having any joy with Lloyds and CC's but an offer landed on the doorstep this morning for £3500!
I'm a very happy bunny.0 -

Hi Di
Can I ask what information you presented to Lloyds to make your complaints. I have approached them once with an old UDT direct loan account number but they responded by saying that their records don't go back that far and could I send more information. I intend to dig out some old paperwork over the weekend to see if I have the relevant loan agreements.
Many thanks.0 -
At the time of sale, customers were sent an information pack in the post including policy terms and conditions and details of what was and was not covered under the policy with details of the customer's right to cancel the policy.
Contact FOS and ask where you stand with this due to the year the PPI was taken out, if they can look at this then send copies of the replies from Redcat.
You need to show that you could have paid this account should the worst have happened and that you had no need of this PPI.
It is on every statement so you will need to explain why you were not aware of what this was. Also, when they wrote to "certain policy holders (including me)", regarding my "satisfaction with the product" in 2006 - I can't have had the PPI very long, as it was only added to my account in 2006. Certainly, I would not have been aware that this policy was unsuitable for me, having just recently been sold it, under the recommendation of the Sales Advisor, in January 2006. I had no reason to question my suitability to this Policy at the time of sale. I did not request this Policy. I was advised to take it out, by the Sales Advisor, and at no point in the telephone conversation did the Advisor ask about my employment status.
The 2008 claim should be ok, see what happens with that.0 -
This might be of interest to anyone making a complaint against NRAM. I got a letter from them today acknowledging that they previously sent out an offer letter by mistake and apologising (but not explaining how it happened). They tell me that they are very busy indeed but are taking my complaint seriously (that's good) and will give me an outcome within 15 business days.
Anyone else dealing with NRAM? Any good news?0 -

They admit I had one but are adamant it was NOT mis-sold, despite the fact that nobody knew ANYTHING about PPI insurance on loans in 1994
This was a Single Premium PPI and this is the reason for mis sell that you use, this was a loan on the loan paid to term end with interest, if you cancelled the PPI they would have given you a pro rata rebate of the PPI and the remaining PPI is still on the loan to term end.
If you settled this loan early then, as above, you would have a pro rata rebate and you would have paid back the remaining PPI in with the settlement figure.
Write back to Barclays and tell them this was SPPI and you were mis sold this and to reconsider their decision.
If you hear nothing back by then, send it to FOS.I mistakenly believed Barclays had come to some kind of agreement to settle these claims, clearly mine doesn't fit the criteria.
Yours was, so get the reply back to them ASAP.0
