Just wondered if anyone had setled their PPI Reclaim with NatWest over the phone?
I sent a questionaire with all the details and also included a copy of my marriage certificate (married since the loan) but they have replied to say they cant find my details and if i have changed my name etc in the past to let them know. Shocking!!!!
They gave me a freephone number to call so was going to call them.

Hi there
With it being only 4 years ago, they will still hold the data, you could optionally request a SAR for all your paperwork by using a template letter below.
https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/1475553
You enclose £10 cheque or postal order and they have up to 40 calendar days to comply.
Send to the data dept, and any problems, contact the Information Commissioners Office (ICO), google these in and the details of contact will come up.
The best of luck.:)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
Hello,
I filled out the template letter and sent my complaint to Barclays around 6 weeks ago regarding 2 loans with PPI from 1994 through to 2003. I recieved their initial response and in turn filled out their questionnaire.
My loan details were roughly, Loan payments £154, which I believe at least £53 of which was PPI for those 9 years.
They replied yesterday with what looked like a standard final response letter informing that with everything considered they did NOT think I had been mis-sold my PPI policy. !!!!!!?
They admit I had one but are adamant it was NOT mis-sold, despite the fact that nobody knew ANYTHING about PPI insurance on loans in 1994. In any event, I was a bit down at getting this response because I mistakenly believed Barclays had come to some kind of agreement to settle these claims, clearly mine doesn't fit the criteria.
Please please please can someone reassure me that this is not necessarily a bad thing and that I will still stand a good chance if I go to the Ombudsman?
I have loan references and bank statements but don't have PPI insurance documents. In their response, Barclays have in essence admitted I had PPI though, rather that It was not mis-sold.
Would be grateful for any advice or guidance or tips in my complaint to the ombudsman.
Thanks alot for your help!
Hi there
Try not to worry, not everyone's are upheld at first shot, they often try fobbing off with standard fob off letters in hope customers no longer fight or take it further.
You could write back and tell them you do not agree with the decision, give them any further information that you think may help, and ask that they send you concrete evidence of why they do not believe they mis sold you PPI (of why they came to that decision of rejecting your complaint.
Sometimes even on a final decision they may reconsider, so if you were given the final decision with enclosed details - leaflet of the FOS, you are free to go this direction now, or as said above, write and ask them to reconsider by 14 days with any other info you can forward them, if nothing is heard, or if they do not change the decision, move on to the FOS.
The FOS will look at 2 sides and you still have a good chance of being successful with these.
Stand your ground now.
Good luck.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -

Hi Dizzy Di and others!
Am new to this forum, not sure if I need to start a new thread? Anyway I have received an offer from the above on PPI insurance I had on the card. BF are offering to repay all premiums from the date I ceased to be in full-time employment. They say that they're only obliged to keep records for a maximum of 6 years, so the refund is based on premiums they have a record of. However, the card started in Jan 1997 and at that time I was in full employment and had generous sick pay and redundancy benefits from my employer, so no need for PPI. I therefore feel that I should be compensated for those 3 years of full-time employment too.(I began working part-time in 2001). I have written to them stating my argument but have not heard back from them after 8 weeks of waiting. They did state in their offer letter that this was not their final response and I could take the matter further with them if i wished (which I did). The quesrion is whar should I do now? Do I accept their initial offer or press on with my case against them or go to the FOS?
Ant replies/suggestions gratefully received.

I have just called NatWest on the freephone number that they gave me.
Spoke to a nice chap who found my details straight away and informed me that i had 2 loans with a total of £7000.
He said he would put me through to someone else as 'something had popped up on his screen'. I then spoke to a lady who informed me that a offer letter had been sent today. Bearing in mind it was only 9:30am do you think this was a lie?
I asked her to read exactly what it said on the screen and she said 'offer contract letter sent 29 June 2012'.
She said once i recieve that which should be 1 day next week then to sign it and send it back.
She could'nt tell me how much the offer letter was for though as its confidential.

Hi and welcome
Do you hold any information prior to the last 6 years you could send them?
Not all of them hold data prior to the last 6 years, and if you could try providing anything to them in copies only ask them if they will consider using the info sent in order to recover the full PPI owed to you.
A suggestion is to contact the local MP, and ask them to write on your behalf, explain the situation to the MP, and ask if they will request they get back by about 14 days in order to let you know if you still want to consider the current offer or go to the FOS (if they do not award anything further).
Sometimes an MP can be helpful.
Good luck with this and well done too.:beer:The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -

Hi
Yes you can, if you know the account number go for it.
I was successful with reclaims as from the mid 90's approx 1995 onwards with mine via Lloyds.
Good luck.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0
