    Thanks for your reply
I took the loan out in June 2007 (over 36 months) and the last payment was May 2010. The repayments were £103.84 per month.

Was the £103 the actual PPI amount or is it the total monthly payment?, looks like you should have had more back than what they have offered you if the £103 is just the PPI payment.

This depends on the original PPI amount and if the loan was settled early.
If you have the figures then post them up.

    £103 were loan repayments

You need to know what the actual PPI monthly amount was,it is only PPI that you paid that you get back to you, it looks wrong to me for PPI that you paid back over 3 years, unless you had arrears or cancelled the PPI at some point, have they given you the figures of how they have worked this out?.

You get PPI back that you paid, if this loan was settled early this will affect the PPI refund.

    Hi Amersall,
Didn't pay loan off early but wondering if this offer might be from Virgin credit card and not MBNA loan - still waiting to hear on this and another with Tesco bank but good news is received cheque today.

    Glad to help x.
Give them a call and ask for a full breakdown of what they have given you as you need to know the actual PPI amount.

I assumed for a long time that I wouldn't have been a PPI mis-selling victim because I always ticked "no" to any additional insurances/charges but during a quiet day in work (!) I filled in the questionnaires and sent them to my old providers; mbna and egg.

The cards are long-closed and I didn't have any details, just my name and address. After 6 weeks I have received a letter from mbna yesterday saying they owed be some £200 and with added interest they will be sending me a cheque for over £600! I have received a letter from egg saying they will respond within the 8 week timeframe allowed so they have 2 weeks left!

    Thank you Martin :)

    MBNA success
I too assumed that I wouldn't have been a PPI mis-selling victim because I also always ticked "no" to any additional insurances/charges but when looking through some old paperwork, I found an statement from MBNA which showed an insurance charge. (Have to admit that at the time, I normally just scanned the statements and ensured I paid the minimum, so had a balance of around £2k for a number of years before paying it off.)

I sent off the standard letter, and when my original agreement was returned, sure enough I had ticked the no box for insurance.

Filled in the questionnaire, and sent it off at the end of May. Monday I received a letter telling me I was due a refund, and today a cheque for £6,500 arrived!

    :-)
