Happy to report receiving a letter from MBNA yesterday confirming my claim upheld and will be paid in the next 28 days.
The claim was only sent to them on June 4th, so fair play to them for an apparent quick turnaround.
Two grand extra into a very squeezed family budget, a holiday for us this year that otherwise wasn't an option.:j
Reading this forum and the site generally gave me the impetus to start claiming. :T It really was quite straightforward, took less than an hour and two visits to the Post Office.
Got the bit between my teeth now, am currently digging out old correspondence to see what else I can go for.:cool:0 -
Does anyone know WHY it takes so long to write a cheque? It's not like we were given the option to have it paid direct into an account!0

Managed to get through to them yesterday and they said they didn't get the letter through to authorise the cheque till 7th June...they are supposed to be ringing OH back but I won't hold my breath
</p>If that is the case - today is the 15th working day

I am on day 19 now and still no sign! Rang them on sat and was told that the cheque was ordered on the 7th June but it has never arrived into the office. Was then told that they would now have to reorder it and it will be another 10 - 15 working days :mad: Rang again today and was told due to the backlog they are working on cheques now which offer letters were sent out at the end of May, so dont know what to believe! x0 -
Just popped home at lunch to find my Egg Loan offer waiting for me. The original PPI paid was £436.28 and the offer breakdown was: £436.28, Plus interest on premiums paid: £92.09, Plus 8% interest giving a total of £840.11
I'm sure I paid off the loan early so I'm sure that factors in somehow but more than happy to get almost double the original amount back.
Following my earlier offer this week from RBS of £16,400 it's turned out to be a profitable week0 -
First claim that I oursued through MBNA came through today - wasn't expecting much but it transpires I was wrong!!!
Settlement for £4600 all in!!!!
Danced around the house for 10 minutes - Kids thought I was demented!
Have another three to persue and if this is the start of it, then I can't wait to see the end of it! All it took was half a day's concerted effort and MSE's guidance!
Can't thank you enough - Time to book a holiday! :beer:0 -
Loan taken out with Barclays in 2004 £9000 over 8 years (Graduate Loan)
I contacted them via phone and some of the details were filled out over the phone. They sent me the questionnaire. 50 ish working days later I receive a cheque for nearly £4000.
However at the same time I complained about another loan that I had however they have rejected on what basis I do not know as I spoke to somebody but have not yet recieved a letter.0 -
A company called check a claim contacted me early 2011 saying that i was missold my ppi and if i wanted to claim it back.
I then recieved a letter from clydesdale saying that they were rewarding me with £1500 and would be paid into my bank in 3 days time.
Now a year on this company check a claim are now contacting me ssying i ow them £410 and if not paid they are reporting me to debt collectors.
I honestly asdumed that they had been paid i did not no that clydsdale had awarded it fully to me without paying them.
Can anyone please give any advice thanks!!
You will have to pay the company, the bank do not take the bill for the company from the win.
You could ask the company for time to pay this as you thought the bank had paid this to them.0 -
