Loan taken out with Barclays in 2004 £9000 over 8 years (Graduate Loan)

I contacted them via phone and some of the details were filled out over the phone. They sent me the questionnaire. 50 ish working days later I receive a cheque for nearly £4000.

However at the same time I complained about another loan that I had however they have rejected on what basis I do not know as I spoke to somebody but have not yet recieved a letter.
  • A company called check a claim contacted me early 2011 saying that i was missold my ppi and if i wanted to claim it back.
I then recieved a letter from clydesdale saying that they were rewarding me with £1500 and would be paid into my bank in 3 days time.
Now a year on this company check a claim are now contacting me ssying i ow them £410 and if not paid they are reporting me to debt collectors.
I honestly asdumed that they had been paid i did not no that clydsdale had awarded it fully to me without paying them.
Can anyone please give any advice thanks!!

I wasn't going to bother sending a complaint to A&L as I took my loan out in Aug 2000 and repaid in full in Aug 2001, so didn't think they would accept it with it being so long ago.
Genuine mis-sell though, they wouldn't give me loan unless I took PPI out.

Well guess what, today I received a PPI refund offer for £891.21 (£465.79 plus £425.42 stat Int @ 8%). They were very quick to reply too, it only took 11 days from posting my letter to them sending me the offer.
If I accept they advise it will take 2 weeks from receipt of my accepatance letter.
Not sure whether the interest refund is correct so need to find a calculator to check it.

It just goes to show there's no harm in trying, it only cost me 90p postage to send the paperwork (which I downloaded from MSE), best money I ever spent.

Make sure to claim it back yourself like I did, the Reclaim companies are taking up to 30% for filling in the same forms on your behalf...

Finally, a great big thank you for all the advice found on here, couldn't and wouldn't have done it without you :T
  • First cheque for £300 ish arrived today, paid it straight in should clear by Saturday!

    Winner!

    Success with Barclay £792:j
TSB offer £926 :D pounds today, but told in a letter if I don't use this to pay my credit card I will be charge interest. To and Speak to some one, if on reduced payments.
I Phoned TSB and asked if they would pay the money off my credit card due to being on a redcution plan, with reduced payment with CCS.
No they the payment could only go into my TSB bank account. Which is in arrears due to the bank charges they insist on charging me every month £90. I can only afford £33.

If the money goes into this account it will pay off some of the bank charges they keep charging me. There will be no money to go towards my credit card.:eek:
Adviser said there is nothing they could do but could see my problem.:(

So look like the money pay off some of the £90 bank charges a month they keep charging me. Then I will get hammered for interest on the credit card which all being dealt with by CCCS.
Looks like the TSB will get the money back and more.
Have had to refer this to ombudsman for help with robbing TSB. Continued charges upon charges.

Sent a letter to Evans and House Frazer to resubmit for copy of evidence of telephone selling. Evans i took out in the shop with an assistant

Awaiting for Capital one to respond. 6 weeks now

I get such a kick out of reading the success stories and that included last Friday evening before going home from work. Imagine my delight when I reached home to receive an acceptance letter from Lloydstsb for a credit card back in 2003 for £3k and change! I already received over £2k for a loan and they have been excellent in dealing with my claim.

Just have to sort out House of Fraser card, through Santander. Received confirmation that PPI was added to the card so sent off the form to the Dept and it was returned stating "no information relating to the account". Can you believe it? The credit data management team sent me a letter confirming PPI along with the card number and the Complaints dept sent me a letter stating they had no information. So i promptly sent the confirmation letter and asked for a response within 12 working days, this was back in early June, to date no reply. So I'm planning to send the jolly lot to the CEO showing the fact that obviously one dept doesn't talk to another:(. Sheesh!!

What address did you use to the santander and house Frazer I had to send mine back but there was a different address on the bottom which I SENT my appeal too. HOPE this was correct

Yes - we received a letter dated 1st June on 2nd June stating 10 - days till cheque......but still no cheque! Managed to get through to them yesterday and they said they didn't get the letter through to authorise the cheque till 7th June...they are supposed to be ringing OH back but I won't hold my breath :( </p>If that is the case - today is the 15th working day :(</p>
  • To share another sucess story........

Last year I managed to reclaim £5K from MBNA on a mis-sold policy on a personal loans.

I also have a credit card with them and have done since early 2000's.........noticed recently that I had paid PPI up until they removed it from the accout in January 2011. I filled in the questionnaire more in hope than expectation - 2 weeks later I've notification of a £7200 cheque on it's way to me to recover 8 years of PPI + interest caused as a result.

With a baby on the way couldn'y have come at a better time :j
    Watching the doormat daily!!!

For anyone that has either a card or old loan with MBNA I urge you to review and try and claim back........2 claims upheld suggests they had real problems. Good luck
