PPI Reclaiming successes and failures

I have just received from LLOYD S a offer of £23.573. 67. I rang and checked to confirm and was informed that claim will be paid in the next 4 weeks. All my claims had a full breakdown of compensation and interest as well. One of my claims did not have a breakdown and it said that any paper or files relating to this claim could not be found, and they offered me £2.400. I did not expect the overall amount to be so large. I am happy with offer and now await payment before the end of June.
I claimed my PPI through Lloyd banks own PPI claim office so no PPI companies were involved. Hope anybody else with Lloyd s has the same result as me.:j:D0 -

Hi,
I have a few complaints going through at the moment. Recently I recieved confirmation from Citi cards that my PPI had been upheld, and I would be recieving £421, awaiting cheque.
Yesterday I decided to phone Citifinacial (loan), they informed me that one loan had been upheld.
£1306 PPI
£975 interest
£1551 8% interest.
She said a letter had been sent on 21May, but I have not recieved anything, she said she would send another letter. I currently have a (Citifinancial) debt for £4452 with a management agency, and she said all the redress amount was going to offset the debt. i informed her that I should be paid the interest, but she was having none of it, and would not budge on what she was saying.
I am slowly trying to clear my debts, and would be happy if the PPI element went towards the debt. The question I have is, the current debt of £4452 is the final figure (£11,000 plus was paid when I sold my house), will PPI be included in this final debt amount which will reduce the total figure, and having my complaint upheld means the PPI should be removed, how do I go about sorting this out, or getting them to pay me the interest. I also have another 2 Citifinancial loan complaints in the system. I have not yet recieved the letter, is it best to wait, then take it to the FOS.

Hi, I'm a Newbie and have only recently started on my PPI reclaim campaign. I'm pleased to say I've had my first success today, an offer from Halifax on 2 small PPI loan policies dating back to 1998 & 2000 for £803.00.
I'm thrilled, I didn't even know the PPI had been added and only went hunting for the paperwork after reading the guide on MSE.
I'm still waiting to hear back on 5 claims I have with Lloyds TSB but I've got everything crossed.
I'd assumed that all my claims would be too old but thankfully in the days before children we actually filed stuff and I had most of the agreements and statements.
Thanks to everyone at MSE and contributors on the forum for guiding me through. :j0 -
idont give up hope, i rung lloyds to look into my old loans following a ppi refund on a current credit card, they called me and asked questions about redundancy cover etc, i too thought i probably didnt have a chance as i couldnt remember details of loans as they were so old, i recieved 1200 per loan for 5 loans and further payments for the loans which they had paperwork on, i presume they were less than 6 years old, all told i had 13k back on the credit card and a further 12K in my account on the loans after 7 weeks, money was deposited in my account before i got the letter detailing payments, so keep the faithWell got the first correspondance from tsb today. A letter dated the 1st June basically just saying sorry to hear I'm complaining and that they will be looking into it for me. 1st step done but to be honest I expected them to ask for some more information? Oh well.........0 -
hi please see my post 29486 on next pageHi,i have just recieved a call from lloyds in regard to my ppi loan claim in regards to a £15,000 loan from 2003,they wanted more info in regards to my work benefits, gave them the info, told them ppi wouldnt have been needed etc, explained this loan paid off a previous loan, ppi was front loaded etc. They said they would investigate further and let me know within 2 weeks, has anyone had this ,any were they succesful?0 -
hi just wondered if you chased up FOS at anytime, i too have 2 claims with them following rejection by barclacard, they have had them for around 8 months now i last had a letter back in march saying they would be in touch within 6 months, is it worth me calling them? congratulations on your success and i hope you get the settlement soonFOS response
I have received a letter from FOS advising that my complaint with Barclays for a Morgan Stanley card has been upheld without going to adjudication (apparently Barclays agreed to settle). There was a settlement form that has been returned to FOS and now I wait for Barclays to contact me with their offer.
What's really irritating is that this has gone on for nearly a year and it's obvious that Barclays have used delaying tactics and a 'who blinks first' approach to my claim and no doubt many others.
I have two other Barclay claims with FOS, both at an advanced stage and I am hoping that Barclays will do the same thing with these and agree to settle before FOS begin the adjudication process.
I am pleased, obviously, that this is now reaching conclusion and FOS have outlined in their letter that will be directing Barclays to pay all premiums, 8% and compound interest but still annoyed that Barclays have used every trick in the book to make this a long drawn out episode.
On a happier note, in the last week premiums and interest on a MortgageCare product that I had with Bank of Scotland has been settled and cheque 'should' be on it's way and an old Personal Reserve account with Amex has been settled with a goodwill payment on it's way also.
I guess the moral of the story is that when dealing with a Barclays rejection don't give-up and use the channels available to get your complaint upheld.
All the best to those in a similar position.0 -
Hi all im new to the forum and just wanted to tell you all about my claim for misold ppi from MBNA.I printed off some of Martins template letters filled one in not having much hope of anything back had the usual reply that they were looking into it and two weeks later got another letter saying that my complaint was being upheld and the day after I recieved a cheque for just shy of 1600 was happy as larry. My major problem is with a debenhams card taken out in 1996 i was sold ppi by one of the assistants and today i recieved a letter from santander sayin they are rejecting my claim because i should have read the booklet they provided and also why hadnt i made a claim sooner?Apolgies for such a long post but any help would be greatly appreciated, think some of the advice you share with each other is brilliant keep up the good work.0

Hi guys,
Hope everyone is well. I've been giving this some thought and I've come to the conclusion that I'm going to fight this for the sake of my sister as I am determined to prove that GE Money have been ripping her off from the very beginning. However, the big question is how?
We spoke to the gits at GE last week and were informed that the outstanding balance currently stood at £1,942 which should come as a relief, except that they also informed us that the amount already repaid stood at £13,914. I think we'd all agree that's a serious amount of money! They also told us that there was £120 of charges on the account. However, with some careful calculations I have discovered that even if the loan and the PPI had run full term, the repayments would only have cost just over £15,500. But as I've said before (and will be saying this in my sleep before long!) the PPI was cancelled, and from inception to termination it cost £1493 including interest. The loan agreement said that the interest on the loan would be something like £3,339, and considering GE have already informed us nearly £14,000 has already been repaid, surely there should only be a maximum of £1,000 left to pay? I've written a point by point account to send off to FOS tomorrow, but am still incredibly frustrated by the sheer incompetence companies are allowed to get away with. It's even got to the point where when one of the staff at GE acknowledged a mistake had been made on their part on the 23rd of May and £40 of charges should be removed from the balance, that £40 still hasn't been removed and today's the 10th of June for heaven's sake!!0 -
Hi newbie here
Ive been viewing this site since the begining of the year and finally decided to make a claim for mis-sold ppi following the templates from this site.
Im extremely happy I viewed this website as ive had 3 sucessful claims come through, which has helped pay for my new kitchen, without this site i would still be living in a building site.
I have a quick question, and was wondeing if anybody could give me some advise.
I had a car on finance in Feb 2008, the loan was due to run for 5 years but I cleared the loan in June 2008 due to selling the car, after renting an appartment, now i settled the loan and im guessing that ppi payments would of been included within this settlement figure, now if i make a claim for mis-sold ppi, will i just get the ppi back for the 4 months i paid the loan or would i also get back any payments in the final settlement figure.
Im unsure who i had the loan with, im sure it was santander, could i contact my bank and ask them who i was making payments in 2008, i dont keep any statements over 2 years old.
Thanks in advance for your help, and thanks for your help in previous claims.
:j Well done on your wins
You put the claim into the dealer that you bought the car from, the bank only loaned the money the dealer sold you the loan and PPI.
If you win you get the whole PPI amount back less the rebate
they gave you when you settled, the rebate will have been a good amount as you only had this for 4 months, you then get the 8%.0
