PPI Reclaiming successes and failures

HI Amersall
Thank you for the response.
PPI amount is 213.46 after taking out 1442.54 for the claim. With interest less tax (473.54 - 94.71) this is a total of 592.29. I am not going to look a gift horse in the mouth and if this is correct then I am more than happy with it.
You are very welcome.
With the claim amount and what they have given you, you have in effect won £2,034.83.
Does the amount of the claim money look about right to you?, just asking in case you did not claim that amount.0 -

I think its pretty much there.
Thank you for the confirmation and your time.0 -
one day 10 weeks ago i walked in on my dad filling in a request for a claims company to attempt to claim back his misold PPI from RBS. I asked my dad to let me have a go on his behalf first and told him that the claims company would take 25-30%. i told him that i had seen an excellent guide on moneysavingexpert and that Martin Lewis said it was easy!!! the loans date back to 1998 and my dad had no paperwork whatsoever. Dad was adament that he was told that he wouldn't get the loan unless he took out PPI with RBS. My dad is in massive debt made a million times worse by massive bank charges and expensive insurance so i really really wanted this to work for him. So i started sith the SAR and as expected only a couple of sheets of statements came back stating that as it was over 6 years they didn't have any records, yet amongst this paperwork was a small table of all the loans dad had taken out including account numbers and the amount of PPI that was paid. I couldn't quite believe they sent this as it had everything i needed to be able to pursue the PPI. So i filled in the complaint form which was very simple and included as much detail as dad could remember. I am not very good at writing important letters like this so i am 100% sure that if i can do this anyone else can. I filled in 5 seperate forms complaining about 5 seperate misold policies and sent them off. 8 weeks later later my dad rang me at work to say that RBS are going to refund all the PPI insurance and associated interest, totalling £9000. My dad was so happy. It is a wonderful feeling to be able to do something this massive for my loved ones and i am soo thankfull to this website for the excellent quality of its advice. many thanks:T0

Hello all,
I thought I would share my story. I am an avid reader on this forum but this is my first post...My partner phoned Lloyds tsb on 1st May 2012 for mis sell of ppi. He is claiming for 2 loans and a cc. A week later he received a letter for each claim to say they are investigating and will aim to resolve this within 60 days. last week he received a phone call on his mobile from a "private number" asking for more info as to why he believes he was mis sold for the cc ( he has full cover with work and was never asked about his work benefits) we have not heard anything further for the loans. has anyone else received phone calls in between and is this a good or bad sign?
Well done everyone for fighting for ppi by the way, and a BIG thank you to "Dizzy" Di and the team. Everyone on here are so helpful and Martin deserves a knighthood

Hello MSE team and users of this fantastic site.
Just to say a big thank you to Martin for bringing the whole PPI reclaims process to my attention. I'd seen the adverts and was being called daily at home.
Then I saw Martin on 'This Morning" on TV. Martin was saying just make the phone call it wont cost you anything and only takes a minute. So after he'd finished speaking I called the RBS. The call took less than a minute to make. Two weeks later I had a letter confirming that the bank was reviewing my request for a refund. Two weeks after that I received a letter informing me that I was owed £3,700.00. I received the cheque 10 days later.
A big thank you to Martin and his team!0 -
Hi
I have followed your instructions for reclaiming my PPI and have had no replies since sending my letter three months ago. Do I write to them again or do I wait a bit longer before writing to ombusman
Regards

Hi there, just want to say thank you to this site for encouraging me to reclaim my ppi on a credit card from MBNA.
I had this card back in 1999 then got into a bit of trouble with it and it was taken over by a DCA in 2004 and I was repaying the balance up to April this year. I had no statements as the card was no longer active and it had been taken over by the Debt Collection Agency. I decided to ring MBNA and ask them if I had ppi on the card and they said I did. I quickly filled in the form on this site in late Feb 2012 and got £2222.00 back from MBNA in early April. I couldnt believe I could get the ppi back from a card dating back to 1999 and which was last used in 2004 - brilliant. I would encourage anyone who is not sure to go for it - you have nothing to lose (except price of a stamp and 10 mins of your time) and maybe a lot to gain.0 -
You've waited far too long, Mac.I have followed your instructions for reclaiming my PPI and have had no replies since sending my letter three months ago. Do I write to them again or do I wait a bit longer before writing to ombusman
What Bank was this?
Did you send your completed Ombudsman Questionnaire to the correct address? You didn't simply drop it off at a local branch, did you?
Do you have proof of posting your complaint?
Questions, questions..
Write a new complaint and make sure you send it to those who deal with such complaints and keep copies of everything you send. You should have an acknowledgement of your letter within weeks, not months!0
