    UPDATE.
phoned barclaycard while relaxing in the sun.
asked for an update on my claim to be told a letter was sent out on the 11th saying my claim had failed, and the reasons why.
never received letter,as i'm guessing they never posted it, and they wouldnt explain over the phone why i'd not won my claim, just that they would send out another copy.
    (another delaying tactic)
told them ,ok fos it is, and see you in court if needed.
didnt sound bothered at the other end of the line, and was happy to get rid of me.
thanks barclaycard for making me wait 16 weeks to be told "no".
i know i've got a good case, you know i've got a good case, but lets make him wait another few months before we pay out.
ITS MY MONEY,YOU CONNED ME OUT OF IT,SO PAY UP.

any advice now would be helpfull, got letter coming from the fos, only got few statements from account i'm claiming for,but all show ppi on them.

my reasons for my claim are:

    1. i was told at point of sale in branch that i couldnt have credit card unless i had the ppi part. "no ppi no card." . if i'd know it was optional i wouldn't have left it on my account for the full time i held it. wasnt until all this ppi scandal came out that i realised i was mis sold it.

    2. didnt need ppi as i had been in full employment for over 7 years, had one months full sick pay,and full pay if off with serious injury.

    3. if i was made redundant ,i had over seven years of redundancy pay coming to me,which would have covered the balance of my credit card, and would have been paid off in full.

"put this on few threads i've been involved with,so sorry for repeating myself" any advice ,help would be great. good luck in all your claims.....if barclaycard involved you will need it. lol
  • Hi ya I have recently recieved a letter that I have paid ppi on a loan and credit card but will only give me ppi back on my loan.
Egg are saying that I ticked ppi on the application form when applying for the credit card. I cant remember doing this and I paid for Halifax inurance monthly through my account. Is there anything i could go to get this ppi back for credit card?

    Ppi on loan uphelded £539.34

Any help or advise would greatly recieved
    Thanks

Sent ppi claim to lloyds regarding 2 loans. Letter a week later from them they are looking into my case. The reference numbers included other loans I had with them.

Paid out on 2 loans I claimed for. And one loan they had on record. And 2 other loans they have found on record but had not got all information but will pay me compensation for.
    SPEECHLESS :j  :j
    A grand total of £15,945 :rotfl: :rotfl::rotfl:
I hope this helps people to keep going if I can do it anyone can.
Thanks for all support and advice.

    • What were you reclaiming: (PPI on loan)
    • Who was the provider: (FirstPlus)
    • How much did you get back:£3787 :j
    • Did you get it back after a letter or did you go to the Financial Ombudsman: after a letter - USING MSE TEMPLATE
Yesterday my bank rejected my overdraft request since they couldn't see how I could repay it. Today I was looking at loans nd wondering how I could bridge the gap. Happily I just discovered that FirstPlus have agreed to uphold my complaint that the PPI I had on one of their loans was missold.

I used the MSE guide and template letter, which I believe helped my case enormously.

Thank you Martin and the MSE Team. I do appreciate FirstPlus's no fuss, polite response too. Very happy.

:mad:I sent my rejection from MBNA for my credit card about 6 weeks ago to the FOS. About a week ago i received a letter from FOS saying i would be getting money back from MBNA. So i was really pleased , i posted it on here. Someone answered saying that MBNA use tactics rejecting hoping it goes no further. They said that if it goes to the FOS , MBNA nearly always settle as there ppi ins if used only pays out 3%. However today i got letter off MBNA saying that i had not had my claim upheld & could take it to the FOS . I was rather confused with this so i rang FOS , they said the letter i had got from them was sent by mistake as they were still looking into it. I was not at all amused , not only do the banks get things wrong now FOS are doing the same. I know they are inudated with claims but really come on get your act together. So looks like in for the long haul.:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

mrsmccat could cry with sheer joy today!
Found out that I have had my MBNA (Virgin) CC complaint upheld, just short of £3000 coming back to me on this long settled account.
This follows successful claims from Barclaycard, Sainsburys, Halifax and Mint. With the help of the AMAZING snowball calculator and basically chucking every penny I can possibly spare at my remaining balance I should be free of the shackles by Jan 2013 at the very latest. I am in the process of (reluctantly) splitting with my husband and going it alone in rented accommodation. For the first time since I signed up for that innocent looking piece of plastic 10 years ago I can finally see a light at the end of the tunnel, a chance of a positive financial future, and most importantly, some sort of life - at last.
