Thanks - glad it's not just me. Was beginning to worry that the money coming back to me would need to be spent on a straitjacket!
He he...my bedroom is already fully padded out! Think Halifax are sick of me phoning and I'm now on first name terms with their call centre people in Manila:o:(:o:(:o:(:o:(:o:D

Wow! Can't quite believe it - spoke to LTSB earlier and they are offering me £13,200 to settle my credit card PPI complaint! I am gobsmacked! That will wipe out my outstanding balance.
It brings the total to just over £23,000 and I still have complaints on another loan and overdraft PPI outstanding.
I am so happy and thank you so very, very much to every one who offered advice :T. Best of luck to everyone else awaiting decisions.
That's wonderful news - congratulations :beer:Success so far:
Bank charges refund plus interest: over £6000 :j

I'm pretty sure they're sick of me now too! They must recognise my number too as I phone every 3 - 4 days and keep hanging up if I get through to the overseas call centre - I keep redialling until I get someone in the UK. What will I find to occupy my time when all my claims have been decided (hopefully in my favour of course)?!!Success so far:

Is it just me or does anyone else find that waiting for payment or waiting to hear about ongoing claims is torture??!!
Please tell me I'm not the only person logging onto online banking about 5 times a day hoping to find a little 'windfall'!

Hi - love your name (it should be mine as I have green eyes and was born in 66!!). I was paying just under £60 a month for 10 and a half years which comes to around £7500 but the PPI refund they are giving me is actually £5700 and the rest is interest so I've asked them to send me a breakdown of the payments they reckon I've made. Not too bothered as with the interest I'm still getting back more than I paid but just want to make sure they haven't made a mistake.Success so far:

Personal Loan
Blackhorse Finance
£3900
Long call then filled in a short form.
I would like to thank this website for giving me the courage to give it a go and the langue to use.
I was made redundant after a period of maternity and went to claim on my insurance for a loan with Blackhorse who put me through to Lloyds TSB. I was told that because I had not worked enough hours in my previous job I could not claim (this pearl of information came after 90mins on the phone) I then said that this had been missold and spent another hour on the phone making my complaint. I then went and spoke to Blackhorse again who said that I could cancel my insurance with Lloyds TSB and that would lower my monthly payment (insurance was over half of what the instalment for the loan was)
I was told that I had paid for all of the insurance at the begining of the policy and there there was nothing to claim.
Within 2 weeks I received a short form asking about my circumstances, which I completed and about 2 weeks after that got an offer letter.
If it has not been for the tips on this website I never would have known what to say!0 -

I have had a ppi claim in with Bank of Scotland since the 6/2/2012 and despite the case been prioritised several times I am still waiting they keep saying its still under investigation I've been waiting almost 16 weeks you'd have thought if they were going to say no they would have done it by now. Hope you receive a lovely windfall soon.0 -
On the back of that success I also complained to Barclaycard. They bought my account from Sky and have been adding ridiculous charges on ever since.
After reading more on here about my rights and asking for a copy of the agreement it dawned on me that I did not have an agreement with Barclays, I had it with Sky. I put this to Barclays (after they refused my claim for insurance due to redundancy) and have credited my account with £1500, which wipes out my card balance.
I have now written a 6 page letter reclaiming my bank charges using the template from this site and when I told my bank I was going to do this they offered to refund this month's charges if I agreed this was the end of the matter. I said, that I had written the letter and was going to send it. Now waiting to see.
Have also complained to my new bank about the fact it has taken from since Easter until now to recieve new bank cards and today was offered £200 compensation.
Have decided its time to start complaining more!! Thanks MSE
Total reclaimed to date: £5700!!0 -
Hi,
Just thought I'd let everyone know that I went into a Lloyds TSB branch today on the off chance that I would be able to get the details of the loans I'd had whith them in the past.
The loans had been paid off 6 years ago, and I'd left it so long to claim because I didn't think they would still have the paperwork, although I knew I'd been tricked into having PPI so I knew I was entitled to claim.
I had with me the last 4 digits of the loan numbers which I had got by signing up to a free 30 credit report trial (which I cancelled straight after). I simply asked the bank teller politely if I was able to get some information on the loans I'd had with them in the past.
Using my account details and the last 4 digits of the loans I could remember, she was able to print out for free the full loan numbers and when they began. I was able to get the monthly repayment amounts and the dates the loans were closed from the credit report.
Another lady in the branch came over to me and was very helpful. She gave me a number (0845 6012 683) and said rather than using a company or filling in paperwork, she said ring them direct and put in the claim over the phone, which I did. It was a 5 min phone call and no hassle.
So here's hoping :-)
1) get a free credit report and get details
2) go to branch and ask nicely for any info they may have on loans you've had
3) ring number and wait :-)0
