I will be getting a refund of £93.39 for PPI on my Capital One Credit Card, have sent off the acceptance letter.
All in all it took 2 letters and about 6 weeks so not bad really.

Unfortunately, Capital One are not being as co-operative regards my charges with them, so that's now gone off to FOS to deal with.

I'm happy tho, as it's my first victory :)

WOW.....Well done!!! :T I'm so pleased for you, at least one of us is getting something back from Cap One!! I'm still waiting.....

    Fingers crossed though eh?!

  • hi hope im in the right part! i see nicki-su has a similar problem to me
I wonder if anyone can tell me if id be ok to try and claim back credit card insurance whilst making token payments. I started making token payments back in December 2008 and am now about to start a DMP with the fabbo CCCS but stupidly it has only occured to me in the last couple of days that credit cards are still continuing to take the blooming insurance and this is adding to the debt by quite a bit.
I dont think they should take insurance from the time i defulted (just my thought)as they tell me not to use cards or send them back etc so why can they still add the insurance payments,my thinking is that i probably wouldnt be covered now as if i tried to claim anything cos im behind with the payments.
Sorry for long winded ramble basically, shall i just go for it and see what happens..
thanks all, this site has been a blessing over these last months x k
  • Regarding my partial success for the PPI Egg loan it seems they have paid out on the wrong loan (my current one) even though i stated the agreement number of my old loan on the stage 1 letter. How poor is that.
I have just got off the phone with them and they have said they will raise a new complaint and to not bother writing a letter. Shall i still follow up with a letter anyway?

    I was reclaiming ppi.
    Sold by egg.
    All.
I got back after second letter.
I was miss sold ppi by egg due to the fact i was selfemployed and ppi wasn't needed. I sent the first letter to egg and they replied very quickly saying they would look into case. then nothing happened after 8 weeks and i sent the next letter. Hadn't heard from them until yesterday when i checked my account and found it had a zero balance. When i rang them they told me it has all been paid of and a check in the post for the remainder owed.

Very pleased with result and a very big thankyou to martin lewis and team for helping with template letters and advice.

similar story - Egg dealt very quickly

Credit card PPI - Egg Card
    Just under £1000!!

Sent a letter off approximately 6 or 7 weeks ago stating we had been missold the cover. Received two letters on the same day stating they were sorry we had to complain and would deal with this within 8 weeks. Second letter saying that 4 weeks had passed and they were still investigating.

Hubby has just called me at work to say he has received a letter and they are refunding all the charges + interest onto the card to reduce the balance!! I've just checked online and it has already been done!

Happy days!! just waiting for Halifax to do the same on the bank charges now! lol

i sent the stage 1 letter to halifax, got a reply a week later saying that they will be in touch within the required time etc...then the following week i got another letter saying that they will put me in the position I would be in now if I had not taken the PPI and again will be back in touch to let me know how much was being refunded to me, then few days later received another letter saying after refunding the PPI I have already paid and after deducting the remaining PPI there was only a small amount left on my loan so they have written it off as a gesture of good will!! Cant believe it,
this loan was not meant to finish till Jan 2010 but its gone now!! :j
