Just had a letter from Lloyds tsb to say they have uphold my claims for mis sold ppi on 3 loans from the 1990s.They are paying
me £1200 per loan. I did not have any paperwork just the loan numbers.I know one of the loans was a consolidation loan which was linked to a loan which I had claimed for mis sold ppi before which was upheld which I had the paperwork for.Thank you all for your help. :j:T
  • Great news Gary! LTSB have offered me £8,400 on 3 loans and £1,200 each on another two where there is no paperwork.

Does anyone know when within the 28 days they are likely to make a payment?

    Hi all

some advice please if anyone would be so kind.

I took a loan out in 1996 (dec) from Barclays trading as Mercentile Credit, taken out over 60 months completed payments 2001 (dec)

Did letters and ombudsman form to Barclays received response 27 April saying they couldn't find any info but would look at it again if I could provide an account number (this was on the ombudsman questionaire as was the application number) or more info, still having the original credit agreement I copied this and sent it off 28 April (a saturday), heard nothing until I rang yesterday to confirm they had received the agreement, and was told following info,

1st person I spoke to, we have received your information but if you wait until they reopen your case it could take months as you will go to the bottom of the pile, better to start a new complaint it will be quicker I'll put you through

2nd person I spoke to, oh no the information you have been given is wrong you do not need to open a new complaint they will pick up your existing one, you should make a complaint about the info you have been given its wrong, I'll put you through to complaints

3rd person I spoke to, we don't have records going back to the 90's and wrote to you on 3 May (Wednesday after sending agreement on Saturday which I had not received) saying "they could not locate a policy in your name", and, " I am unable to review your complaint unless you provide me with specific evidence the a PPI policy was held in your name"

I explained the copy of the agreement I sent to them showed the PPI in clear terms and the amount, asked for a copy of the letter and told the lady if I posted the agreement on the Saturday and they reply on the Wednesday there cannot have been much of an investigation, received the letter today and confirmed the reasons above.

With the info I have and the contradictions I have had from Barclays, should I persue this with the Ombudsman?

If you've got a LTSB current account, you may get the payment within a few days of the decision. At least that's what happened with me. I still haven't had the letter, but I happened to ring them for the decision, and 2 days later the money was in my account.

If you don't bank with them, then it might take longer.

I still bank with them so fingers crossed it won't take too long. The first decision was made last Friday (11th) so I shall be checking my account with interest :rotfl:

Pretty much the same story here.......£4250 PPI claim on mortgage from Lloyds which ended over 6 years ago - we had very little info and no paperwork. Received cheque about 3 weeks after letter notifying us of our succesful claim :)

Happy Happy Happy £1774 received for credit card. That clears the balance. Fingers crossed now for the consolidated loans.
  • I hope someone can try and clear-up my confusion. I put in a claim for 3 loans with Lloyds TSB at the start of April and received confirmation 2 weeks. They sent me 3 separate letters that split the loans into one letter for 3 loans (some I didn't know I had that included one from 2008, which I know doesn't include PPI) and 2 separate letters for other loans. Each of these letters had a unique CC/ reference.

It's been 7 weeks and apart from a phone call to clarify some details, I haven't heard anything else. While I was checking my online banking late on Friday I noticed that I'd received a PLPI refund for £4700 with a CC/ reference that matches one of my complaints - YAY!!!. As I haven't had any details through from Lloyds I haven't a clue what's occurred. Can I assume this is linked to all my complaints or just the CC/ number that's on the payment ?

I hate it when they send the offer letter AFTER the money has already been deposited! I suppose the reasoning is that complainants will be less likely to refuse the offer if they've already had it!
Only Lloyds will be able to confirm whether the "cc/reference" refers to some or all of your complaints. I expect you'll receive a letter in the next few days.:)
