As it was a condition of the Mortgage then I would think not, post the question here

    They can help you more.

Do you think that it wasn't mis-sold then as it was a condition of getting the mortgage, cause the reason they said it wasn't mis-sold was that it was optional (that's what it said on the new paperwork, when I added to my mortgage). Thanks for your help.

You will see i have posted 2 santander store cards - burtons and D Perkins, both letters don't say final response - Does this mean I can't send to FOS? Both letters say I am not getting a refund so is this ok to forward to FOS?

Write back to Santander/Dorothy Perkins ask for the recording of the conversation, if you get no joy then send to FOS, the Santander/Burtons I would write back and say you reject the reasons for them not upholding, put that it is only due to recent media coverage that you knew you had been mis sold this PPI, had you known this when you took the card in store you most certainly would not have taken it, if you get no joy then send this to FOS.

    Hi Guys

I am thinking about weather to use a PPI Claims company.

Can anyone who has used them before tell me when/if I win, where the claimed back money goes. Is it to the Claims company minus their % fee or does it come directly to me, leaving me to send them there fee ?

    Thanks

    Hi

my sister had terrible trouble with a company , they charged her £180 up front and she cannot contact them now so has complained to FOS , then my neice was contacted by another firm/solicitor and was told forms would be sent to her ..... 13 weeks later after that call the forms have arrived for her to complete and send back :-( (which she isnt doing now )

I decided to go it alone and use the forms off here and seek the advice from everyone on here. Complaint sent recorded delivery 16th march cheques recieved 18th april from first plus so for a an hours work seeking and reading the advice on here and £1.52 Im now £9847 better off and have cleared debts off

Its really easy to do and the money will be all yours :rotfl::rotfl:

OMG just received a letter from RBS saying they are upholding my credit card PPI complaint and are paying me £4323.95, i'm gobsmacked at the amount. It was from period of 2000 - 2007. I had pretty much convinced myself that they wouldn't uphold it but they did and 8 weeks exactly to the date of my complaint I got my letter, very happy bunny :D

HUGE thanks to everyone on here, especially the regulars who have given such amazing help and advice and of course to MSE, you are all :A

Quick question though, they sent me a letter at the same time about my other credit card I had put a complaint in about which was the one before the 2000 card. They said they were unable to progress the matter further as they can't locate the card number on their records but if I can give them any further details they will be happy to reopen. Is it worth pursuing this one? The card was closed end of 1999 so i'm guessing they don't have any information anymore on it. I gave them the card number when I put in my complaint. I'm currently waiting on my SAR request coming from them for all my info.

    Thanks again

Quick question about the breakdown of my upheld complaint below

Refund of premiums paid between Jan 2000 and June 2007 £1,856.68

Compound interest on premiums based upon interest rate charged on credit card £1,223.23
    Total Refund Due £3,079.91
Gross Interest at FOS rate has £1,555.05
    Less tax at 20% - £ 311.01

    Net interest £1,244.04

    Total Offer £4,323.95
Does the less tax at 20% mean that RBS are paying HMRC and I don't have to contact them myself? I just worry about these things and want to make sure I don't end up owing the tax man further down the line.

    Thanks :)
Thanks to all those who post the comps :D
