Hope You don't mind me asking...... What reasons did you give for being mis-sold mortgage ppi?

sorry forgot to mention that this was done in one simple phone call with absolutely no hassle from lloyds .
just want to tell you also do not speak to manilla or there is a fair chance that your claim will go nowhere as they are not very good at passing details onto the uk.in other words if you do get foreign accent put the phone down and re dial and be cool and patient.

    Hi all,

Just an update.... So far I have contacted MBNA (3 Cards)
    HSBC Loan and EGG Card

I have received the usual letters of we are looking into it

Anyways I received a letter from MBNA on 28th March saying we are trying to contact you even though that was the date I called in regarding my PPI. The next letter was 2nd April saying we are looking into your complaint. Letter dated 24th April, your complaint is being upheld. He will send you a cheque for £1,450 within 28 days! Fantastic. However I called them and asked why I hadnt heard from them regarding my other 2 accounts. They told me there was no complaint on the system for them. I then said that there must be as I had sent all 3 questionnaires in the same recorded envelope. If they had one they must have them all.
The operator replied by saying they havent received any questionnaires, this was just from me calling them about the PPI but she clearly failed to make the complaint on the other 2.........anyways. a success with a few more to go but it shows how much of a backlog they have as even though the letter was signed for.....the central process team still havent logged them on the system!!!

I am confused it if HSBC confirm that I also have PPI on my account, can I start again and put in claim for mis-selling it? I hope you guys understand this as I am finding it hard getting my head round.
Wait and see what their reply says in a couple of weeks. I doubt you'll have both Lifechoice policies and payment protection, though this would be cause for complaint in itself as you'd then have significant overlap of cover. They may even uphold your complaint against the Lifechoice, let us know...

Quick question about the breakdown of my upheld complaint below

Refund of premiums paid between Jan 2000 and June 2007 £1,856.68
Compound interest on premiums based upon interest rate charged on credit card £1,223.23
    Total Refund Due £3,079.91

Gross Interest at FOS rate has £1,555.05

    Less tax at 20% - £ 311.01

    Net interest £1,244.04
    Total Offer £4,323.95

Does the less tax at 20% mean that RBS are paying HMRC and I don't have to contact them myself? I just worry about these things and want to make sure I don't end up owing the tax man further down the line.

    Thanks :)

Can I ask how much ppi you were paying approx monthly as I had an rbs cc close to the dates you have quoted. Just to get an idea of what I can expect. Thank you

Firstly I would like to thank Martin, the MSE team and all the people on this site giving useful information to reclaim PPI .

Just over a month ago a decided to put in a claim for the various loans, store cards, credit cards and mortage PPI that both I and my husband have had over the years.

I nearly fell into the trap of using a CMC, but after reading how easy it was to do it yourself on this site and the % that these companies charge I decided to do it myself armed with the info gain from this site.

Today we recived a letter from Halifax offering us £523.98. TMP (Mortage) This was for a year payment

Also in the same letter was an offer for £1,393.90. This was for a loan that I has for six months back in 2003.

My husband recived a letter from HFC offering £1.169.71.

To say were are very happy is an understatement. We have yet to hear from

    Barclays (Loans)
    Nationwide (PPI mortage)
    Santander (Loan/storecards)
    Capital one

But I will keep you all posted.

    One again thank you MSE.

I have no idea to be honest, as it was an old credit card and had shredded the statements when I closed it, sorry.
Thanks to all those who post the comps :D

Can i ask what the years your Loan with HFC - was
Im still waiting for my SAR to come back from them - i suspect they will come back and say they have nothing on me as my account was paid up and closed in 2005 - so was just wondering if it was an account older than the 6 years - Thanks

It's not the year so much as supporting evidence which is important for old loans and credit cards.

    Hi all

After sitting looking at this site over the past 4 weeks (constantly), i have decided to take the plunge and give this a go.
I have today sent off 5 letters to companies to try and reclaim my PPI.
    Natwest Credit Card
    Lloyds TSB Credit Card
    Nationwide Mortgage
    Nationwide Loan
    Co op Loan

Thanks everyone on this site for posting their successes as it has spurred me on to do something about it.

I am proper addicted to this site.... my husband says i have a problem!
Anyway lets see how it goes!!:D
