Sent form to MBNA on 3rd April, letter received today confirming the complaint is upheld and we'll be getting £3600 back within 28 days. So glad I followed the intrsuctions here - so little effort required but this success will make us debt free by October. Sooooo happy!0

Had reply today.
'Having checked your account details.I can confirm Account cover. I have enclosed a copy of your credit Agreement.
I note that you say that you were not told that the policy was optional when it was taken out in 07 September 2002, but I also note that the process that we had in place was to make it clear that it was not compulsory. I can confirm that on the agreement you signed it required you to sign if you required Account cover which you did.You could have cancelled after 30 days.
In relation to your reference to the sales process in store there was no requirement upon us to record sales process and so we have no way of knowing what took place. However if any of the matters that you suggest took place you would have been able to call at any time in the first 30 days and we would have removed the insurance from your account. Since the insurance has been clearly shown on your statements you could have cancelled at any time.
I can find no evidence of mis-selling therefore I am unable to refund the premiums.
If you remain dissatisfied with our responce refer complaint to FLA'

Don't know if anyone else has had this experience. Went to pay my cheques in for my PPI refund from Sainsbury's about £7K. Cashier said as it was such a large amount I had to speak to the person in charge that day. Was ushered into a room and asked if I had an account or savings with Sainsbury's. Told her it was a PPI refund and she congratulated me on the sum. Told her it was my 3rd success, wanted to say one was from you (I bank with Ll***s TSB but refrained). Told her it was all thanks to Martin Lewis and MSE site and added that the banks probably dislike him. She didn't reply but did not seem to know who he was. Then asked me if I had any plans for it, obviously wanted to sell me a product. Told her I was going to pay off my debts. I think because I'd already paid in 2 big cheques previously my account was flagged up. Quite enjoyed the feeling that they thought I was up to something shady, I'm so honest I can't even lie convincingly!!!!!:rotfl:£180.00 in 'sistercas'fund
Hope is like the sun, which, as we journey toward it, casts the shadow of our burden behind us.

Had reply yesterday.
'I would like to confirm that Account cover was not sold in store It was applied following a telephone conversation that you had 14 may 2001. The policy is called Account cover and comprised of price, purchase and payment protection. It was sold to you over the telephone by one of our advisers who explained the main features of the product and the price. The insurance was added to your account because you chose to do so. Since the insurance has been clearly shown on your statements you could have cancelled or a claim made at any time.
If you remain dissatisfied with our response you may refer to FLA.
Should you require any further information please contact my number below.'

Hi all,
Just a quick update of my claims.
Wrote to HSBC on 26 march with initial complaint, FOS forms sent out to me and returned by me on 14th April. Reason for miss sell, that I have a full years sick pay from NHS, and not informed about front loaded PPI, and cooling off period.
I have had my update letter today, so hopefully 4 more weeks to go!
This is for 3 rolling loans I had from 2002-2012. I will update with result.
Nothing back from my SAR to both Barclaycard and MBNA (26 March).
Info back from AUDI finance, no PPI on that car loan.
Thanks to all who run the thread, and all who post!0 -
Did you get the agreement? if you only have statements the PPI could have been included in the monthly loan payment.
Thanks again amersall.
We have just been looking again at statement we took loan out in Feb 01 £10,000 over 60 months we repaid early in Aug 02. Cannot get figures to add up with loan amount and interest there is £1,200 adrift so will contact them Mondy and ask for copy of credit agreement.0 -
Contact them and ask for the recording where this PPI was explained to you by the operator on the phone as you need this to take the claim to the FOS.
Thanks again amersall. I need your brain inside my head :rotfl::rotfl:
With both santander cards they refer me to FLA. Why not FOS?0 -

Successess So Far Thanks To This Wonderful Site
First Plus PPI Claim £9847.98
Halifax CC PPI £3117.58 :money:0 -
If you made one payment each month to the loan and this included the PPI payment, then this is Single premium PPI and the most upheld of all PPI reclaims, does not matter if you signed for this they will not have told you that the PPI is on to term end with interest or that if you wanted to cancel this PPI, the loan would have to be reset and the term and/or APR may increase, you would get a small rebate of the PPI and the remainder would still be on the loan to term end with interest, use this as the reason.
Thank you so much amersall! I shall definitely try and claim then.
You know, I'm still none the wiser - I have no idea what you're talking about with phrases such as "you would get a small rebate of the PPI and the remainder would still be on the loan to term end with interest". So even if they HAD told me these things, I probably wouldn't have understood!I incurred the debt, I repaid the debt - all of it!DMP started with CCCS 20/07/2007 Was £32,735. Paid off all my creditors (June 2013) 7 yrs ahead of original DFD.
PPI claims won against Barclays x 2/ Egg x 1/ LV x . PPI claims rejected and then upheld Barclays/Egg x 20
