didnt see anything in there papaerwork saying actually how much they would charge & when they would charge it.
It should be in the contract.
It just said no win, no fee, no small print of %. Then 2 months down the line I receive their invoice.
You did win and they can claim the fee
I also feel they did a limited amount of work on my behalf. I had to contact the AA directly myself by letter to request my loan agreement number as I kept receiving letters from Charterhouse to say this information was missing from my forms even though they didnt insist on having this in the 1st place & then had to forward them this info which delayed the claim by a few months.

This is what you do with a claims co, you do all the work and they sit back and take a fee, if you do not think that they earned this fee then I suggest you write to them and state this, ask for a breakdown of the charge and that you do not think they did enough to warrant the full fee and try to negotiate a reduction, this may not work and as you signed a contract then you have to pay.

How did you get them to do the claim initially and what was said between you and them?, this may help if they promised something they could or did not deliver.

I took out an Egg loan in 2004, arranged over the phone, coerced into taking PPI. However, on reviewing my documentation a few minutes ago, included is a detailed Egg Loan Protection Policy form which I would have had to sign and return a copy, thus acknowledging I knew what I was letting myself in for. The Loan amount was £10k, the Loan Payment Protection was £2305, total £12305, with interest on top.
My question is, having signed and returned aforementioned form, is it worth attempting to claim?

If you made one payment each month to the loan and this included the PPI payment, then this is Single premium PPI and the most upheld of all PPI reclaims, does not matter if you signed for this they will not have told you that the PPI is on to term end with interest or that if you wanted to cancel this PPI, the loan would have to be reset and the term and/or APR may increase, you would get a small rebate of the PPI and the remainder would still be on the loan to term end with interest, use this as the reason.

What were you reclaiming: PPI on a loan
Who was the provider: First Plus/Personal Loans Express
How much did you get back: £5569.09
Did you get it back after a letter or did you go to the Financial Ombudsman: Went to FSCS after being told PLE was no longer trading.

We had a £20,000 loan over 10 years taken out with First Plus Loans back in 2006.
The loan would only be accepted if we took out the PPI which was around £6244 on top.
We came into some money a couple of years later so paid off the loan in full, but ended up paying over £21000 to clear the loan and PPI

Made the claim to First Plus whom the contract was with, they sent them back saying the loan was with Personal Loans Express, even though we had no paperwork with their name on and didn't recall going through them either???

So, we then went to the FSCS, who dealt with it, after around 8 weeks we just received a cheque for £5569.09, you can only receive 90% of the loss through the FSCS, otherwise it would have been more.

    All in all very happy.
    Thankyou for your guidance
    I love a win with FP :D:D:T:T:T:T

    Hi,
I have just received a letter from natwest offering me my total refund of ppi and associated interest (£760.20).Plus net interest of £224.61 minus tax of £44.92. In total £939.89.

It took 4 days short of 8 weeks after making a simple phone call.

I just need to complete the acceptance form and wait for the money to be paid into my account.

A special thanks to Amersall for making me aware that this was a front loaded loan. And thanks to everone who has given advice on this site.

    :D:D My absolute pleasure :T:T:T:T:T Congrats:j:j:j

My bill is in the post:rotfl: 0% and no Vat :D

Our Di knows about Endeavour, wait for her to come on and she may be able to help you with this.

I would contact Endeavour and ask for the paperwork that shows you had no PPI.
They have to have this info to tell you that there is no PPI, there may well be no PPI, but it would be nice to have proof, one way or the other.

    Had reply today.
Statement of account with info regarding payment history-no ppi shown.
I was really sure we had ppi - so my mistake.

Did you get the agreement? if you only have statements the PPI could have been included in the monthly loan payment.

    Had 2 loans with Lombard.
    Letter this morning for one,
'Unfortunately we are unable to progress this matter as, you have not provided us with a number that refers to loan account. Please provide us with more information with which to locate. Information can include policy number, amount, start date or ant other supporting paperwork.
Please note the option of making a Subject Access Request to obtain this information. To do this simply send you request along with a cheque for £10.

I sent questionnaire to them but all I could tell them was start date of loan.
The other questionnaire I sent for the first loan I did provide them with a loan number, but no start date. Would they not be able to get information from this?

Contact them and tell them you have a claim in for one loan that they have the account number for and ask them to look at this and see if they can find the other loan, if either of these loans were used to repay the other off.

    Had reply yesterday.
'I would like to confirm that Account cover was not sold in store It was applied following a telephone conversation that you had 14 may 2001. The policy is called Account cover and comprised of price, purchase and payment protection. It was sold to you over the telephone by one of our advisers who explained the main features of the product and the price. The insurance was added to your account because you chose to do so. Since the insurance has been clearly shown on your statements you could have cancelled or a claim made at any time.
If you remain dissatisfied with our response you may refer to FLA.
Should you require any further information please contact my number below.'
Not having much luck at moment.
