Hi All,
Just wanted to let everyone know that we had a success against MBNA this week!
This all seemed to simple! Wrote to them, got a response saying they will investigate within 28 days, this was back in April.
Wednesday this week, we received a letter telling us they were upholding our complaint and awarding us something like £2500 (approx), and that a cheque will follow within 28 days.
We received the cheque yesterday!
So BIG thanks to everyone at MSE and on the forums for your support!

Update Nationwide said they don't believe I was miss sold PPI, Tesco said at no time was PPI added to my loan despite me enclosing a copy of the orginal paperwork with the PPI on it
Get back in touch with Tesco and tell them the PPI is on there as you sent a copy of the agreement with the complaint, ask them to look at this again or you will pass this over to FOS to deal with.
Is the PPI monthly payment on the agreement included in the total monthly loan payment?.
What reasons did NW give and what were your reasons for mis sell.0 -
Hi All,
I've got my questionnaire through from HSBC.
Just wanted to ask, what reasons are people putting down for the miselling of PPI?
1 of my credit cards and 1 loan had PPI added to it whithout my knowledge, is that a good enough reason to put?
Any help will be appreciated! :money:0 -

That if we had needed it we would have been eligable to claim on the PPI despite my employer paying full sick pay at the time of taking out the loan was the gist of the letter very long winded lol.0 -

Hi there
Everyone's reasons could differ.
For example, one of my credit cards were added automatically added with ppi when I was a homemaker with children, so this would not have fully benefitted me.
However, they bank (lloyds) when I first complained said, even though it would not have protected me for unemployment, I was still covered for life cover, job solutions and life cover.
I wrote back to tell them it was unfair to sell me and add the ppi automatically where the policy would NOT FULLY protect me.
They eventually upheld in my favour.
Yes, if they added the ppi to your card without your knowledge, you do have a reason to make a reclaiming complaint.
Good luck.:)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -

Hi
Maybe you could try writing back and tell them you do not agree with the decision they made on rejecting your complaint, by giving them further information and ask them to provide concrete evidence and any other information to support why they rejected your complaint.
Sometimes they will even change a final decision, so if you want to give it another go by asking them to review your complaint by giving further info on your case, request they write back by 14 days, if you hear nothing or if they do not change the decision you can complain to the Financial ombudsman service (FOS).
They do generally let you know in the final decision of your next step ie: complain to the FOS etc, with the leaflet details if eligible to complain to them.
Keep at them, good luck.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
Hi, I didn't think this was relevant to me but a friend of mine successfully claimed missold PPI from 1989. I had a store card for Adams Childrens Clothes Shop and took out a loan through the bank that provided the finance for the card. I think it was MBNA but as the loan was taken out in 1996 I am not completely sure. Does anyone know how I can go about finding this information?0
