Hi, I put in a claim with lloyds for credit card, they rejected it but said if I had more information to ring or write back which I did just over two weeks ago, I have rang twice since and they said there is nothing on system I sent it recorded which was received, does it usually take this long for it to be logged on system, I told them I did not agree with their decision as I have banked with them for over 20 years in this time I have had 7 loans and opted out of ppi on all of them so y would I then agree to have it on my card, any advice would be great is it worth emailing CEO x0

HI
I have just received an offer from Lloyds regarding a PPI complaint:j.
However this is much less than the PPI payed:huh:.
The loan agreement states that the PPI payed is £1028.98 (front loaded on the loan), but the offer is:
Refund of premiums - £184.17
Early settlement difference - £388.17
Interest at 8% - £101.61
Other indirect losses - £74.00
Total - £747.95:question:
The loan was not settled early but defaulted and has since been payed back in full.
Do Lloyds reduce the offer because the account defaulted?
I would have though that as the loan was still payed back in full I should be intitled to the full PPI, or the reduction should be shown in the calculations.
I am not sure wether to take the offer or quiery it?:(0 -

What was the term of the loan and when did you default?.0 -

They are inundated at the moment and there was a poster on here yesterday that was told his claim was logged 2 weeks after it was sent, it is possible this is what is happening, give them a few more days to show on the system.
You could email Osario but I would give them a bit longer.0 -

The PPI is added on to the loan and a monthly payment for it.
That if we had needed it we would have been eligable to claim on the PPI despite my employer paying full sick pay at the time of taking out the loan was the gist of the letter very long winded lol.
You have now found out that this PPI was put on at the start of the loan and paid back to term with interest and that had you wanted to cancel this PPI you would have received a rebate but the remaining PPI would still have been on the loan to term end with interest.
If the Nationwide loan PPI was the same then write back and say the same to them. also reject this because " why would you pay for a PPI to protect against sickness when you have the same cover for free from your employer that covers the same period..0 -
Hi, I didn't think this was relevant to me but a friend of mine successfully claimed missold PPI from 1989. I had a store card for Adams Childrens Clothes Shop and took out a loan through the bank that provided the finance for the card. I think it was MBNA but as the loan was taken out in 1996 I am not completely sure. Does anyone know how I can go about finding this information?
It would help if you knew who the bank was, maybe someone who knows who provided the finance for the store card will post and then you will know who the bank was, the only option open to you if you find out the bank is to put a Sar into them.

Give as much info as you can for them to find you, this will cost £10 and ask for all info they hold on you not just a specific item, give them 40 days to respond.0 -
You signed a contract with these so you have to pay the fee.
Having said that, they have only done what all the claims companies do and that I am afraid is jack
As you now know the customer does all the work and they sit back and take a fee.
If I were you, write to Charterhouse and ask them to give you a breakdown of what they actually did for this claim to get you this redress as you think the fee is is not appropriate as you did all the work and ask to negotiate a smaller fee, this may not work but it is worth a try.
:j Well done on the win by the way :beer:Hello,
I recentally won a claim against Egg banking for £6350.00
Today I get an invoice from the company that was dealing with the claim for me for £2289.00!
This was made up of 30% fee - £1908 but also 20% VAT @ £381!
Leaving me with £4061.00
So in one breath this is a success!
Now my gripe is that I ended up doing the majority of the work as Egg contacted me directly with all the forms which I filled out and sent back to Egg. When I phoned Charterhouse to ask them what to do with these forms they told me I also needed to scan, print and send duplicates to them!
Later I got more of the SAME forms above from charterhouse asking me to fill them out and send back to them and NOT Egg.
I phoned them up and told them I had already been sent the forms direct from Egg and had already sent them back including duplicates to them which they has asked me to do on a prevoius phone call. I also had several "nasty" letters from them asking me for these forms of which I had to phone them two or three times stating that I had already sent them back and had discussed this with them several times in the past.
End of the day I do have £4000ish back, but I feel that I done ALL the work, seeing as I had to fill out all the forms and send all the forms back to Egg AND Charterhouse!!
Can someone please advise me what I should do? Are they entitled to this £2000+ or should I dispute it and only pay them a % of the fee?
Regards
Paul.
I also won a claim through charterhouse claims against AA personal finance & just received an invoice from them for £560+ for 30% for my claim received from AA loans. I didnt see anything in there papaerwork saying actually how much they would charge & when they would charge it. When i received the cheque from the AA i assumed that the deductions had already been taken from Charterhouse. It just said no win, no fee, no small print of %. Then 2 months down the line I receive their invoice. I could of spent the £1500 by now for all they know?
I also feel they did a limited amount of work on my behalf. I had to contact the AA directly myself by letter to request my loan agreement number as I kept receiving letters from Charterhouse to say this information was missing from my forms even though they didnt insist on having this in the 1st place & then had to forward them this info which delayed the claim by a few months.
I was happy with the amount I received but like I said, i didnt expect them to bill me two months down the line & cant recall this timescale or % in any of their paperwork.
Do you suggest writing to them & asking for a breakdown of charges? And will this even be worthwhile?
Thanks

OMG just received a letter from RBS saying they are upholding my credit card PPI complaint and are paying me £4323.95, i'm gobsmacked at the amount. It was from period of 2000 - 2007. I had pretty much convinced myself that they wouldn't uphold it but they did and 8 weeks exactly to the date of my complaint I got my letter, very happy bunny
HUGE thanks to everyone on here, especially the regulars who have given such amazing help and advice and of course to MSE, you are all :A
Quick question though, they sent me a letter at the same time about my other credit card I had put a complaint in about which was the one before the 2000 card. They said they were unable to progress the matter further as they can't locate the card number on their records but if I can give them any further details they will be happy to reopen. Is it worth pursuing this one? The card was closed end of 1999 so i'm guessing they don't have any information anymore on it. I gave them the card number when I put in my complaint. I'm currently waiting on my SAR request coming from them for all my info.
Thanks again :beer:Thanks to all those who post the comps0 -
Daisychain - wait for your SAR to come through and see what's there - it's 40 days for a response from the date they received it. Hopefully there'll be some info that shows you had PPI on the earlier card. And congratulations on your refund!0
