i had a letter from capitol one just after xmas which i filled in and just got a letter back last week saying their refunding me 1700 pounds thing is i have 2 other capitol one cards but havent had any letters to fill in for them, why not?
Did you put the claim in for all 3 accounts?, if you did then they should be dealing with them, they should send you a breakdown of the calculations as well, it is possible that is the redress for all 3.
Give them a ring and ask about the other 2 if you put the claim in for these, if you did not then you will have to do a claim again for the other 2.

I received my cheque and banked it yippee,,,then today i have received another letter stating I am owed £2489. The first amount of £939.37 was for the loan and this second amount is for the mortgage. I over the moon. My claims so afr as follows.
    HSBC £6800
    MBNA £4900
    Barclaycard £1200
    Halifax £3400
    Bank charges £8900.
The only down side is that the Ombudsman is refusing to upheld my claim for Marks and Spencer's store card from 1995 and personal reserve from 1999 as they are stating that
    1) I had ample time to cancel the policies as they were shown as separate amounts on my statements.
    2) The wording on the form I filled in was easy to understand.
    3) the sales advisor did not need to have the financial acumen to sell the policy as I could understand it.
    4) I ticked the box.

This does not include the £13000 I claimed back for my father in law from HSBC because he was self employed.

    :j:j Well done you :T:T:T

You don't have to receive a letter/form in order to complain. If you have legitimate reasons for the other cards then fill in the blank Ombudsman's Questionnaire available here:
    http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/reclaim/ppi-credit-card-insurance
and send one for each card to Capitol One

  • Hi All, used Martins PPI claim form for current loan with Natwest, started claim in February expecting approx £3000, had letter(S) yesterday saying they would uphold the claim and because of rolling loans they have agreed for payment totalling £13.300. Money should be in the bank by middle of May. Thanks Martin.

    Hi tyler,

    :j:jCongratulations, well done:beer:
What reasons did you use for mis-sell, if you don't mind me asking. I have a complaint with Blackhorse ongoing at the moment.

I took out a credit card with Lombard Direct in November 1999 I am self-employed. I wrote to them requesting cancellation of the policy in March 2006. This was for PPI, although I had never received a policy document. As PPI was a hot topic at this time I requested copies of my card statements and in February 2007 I requested repayment of the PPI from 20/12/2000 to 22/03/2006.requesting to be re-imbursed £978.51 plus 8% interest. I received a prompt response within two weeks stating that theur charges were fair and reasonable etc., and declining to repay me. I contested this comment, they wrote again within a week back in March 2007 informing me that they would leave the file open until April 2007, I told them that I wasn't pleased with their reply.I had sent a Complaint to the FOS in April 2007, for whatever reason this was never recorded. I wrote to Lombard in June 2009 asking what was the current position, they replied in July 2009 giving me six months to contact the FOS, I did reply in November 2009 that I would be dealing with the FOS, but giving them a further 14 days to settle. I heard nothing from Lombard (RBS), due to work it went on the back burner. The FOS eventually got back to me in November 2010 acknowledging my replacement complaint form apologising for the delay due to a high caseload. The FOS wrote to me informing me that I had a complaint against RBS and to send a Consumer Questionnaire to their ppi Bristol office, this was December 2010. No reply was ever received, so back to the FOS, the legal challenge took up a few months of 2011, I wrote again to Bristol PPi office in August 2011, still no reply. The FOS had requested information from RBS since August 2011 but even they failed to get the required information. The FOS advised me to deal directly with RBS and if necessary to claim through County Court action, I wrote to Manchester PPI office in February 2012, but, they reckoned I didn't exist as a person in their records !!! I contacted them today as I hadn't heard from them, according to their notes my claim is rejected because it is time barred.

Sorry for this long drawn out message, but, does anyone have an opinion on their decision that my complaint is time barred ?

    hi
HSBC received my complaint on 19th March but having just called them for an update they said it was put on the system on 3rd April so that's when the 8 week time scale starts. Is this right ??

Can anyone help with this ????
