I have recently received word that my claim has been upheld and i am now awaiting a cheque for £1990.88. I called Halifax on 22nd February 2012, recieved the ackowledgement letter a week later and 7 weeks after my initial phone call on 10th April 2012 i recieved the offer.
The cheques are in the post and by god this i must say is the most anxious i have been throughout this whole ordeal.
Could anyone enlighten me as to whether Halifax take all of the 28 days or if there are any instances when people get cheques earlier?
Its been two weeks, so they have just 13 days remaining but the wait is terrible. It sounds greedy but when i didn't know i had a valid claim i was fine and it only cost a phone call; now i know it was succesful its great. That amount of money will give myself, my wife and the 3 kids an excellent holiday and make things a lot easier. roll on 8th May.
Thanks all. and anybody reading just thinking about claimin think no longer i just picked up the phone read out my references and told them why i was mis-sold ...... front loading, public sector employee and told it was required to obtain finance at such a young age.
AGAIN thanks to you all you are amazing :T:T:T:T:T:T:T:beer:
:j:jFab news, well done:beer:
Enjoy your holiday:cool::cool: and I hope your cheque arrives sooner than you think:D0 -

Hi I am makin a claim with lloydstsb for 5 rolling loans and a credit card, all I had to do is ring there ppi claims dep they put me straight thru to get all the ref numbers then put my claim straight in received a confirmation letter sayin they where lookin at the claim I did this mar 15th so got 2 wks left till 8 wks up typical on holiday next wk bet I get my response then,I like many was told I either will be refused loan or higher interest if I didn't take ppi even tho I thought it was just insurance for them not me,so here's hopin they uphold my claim as I have always been a very loyal customer and all my bills sorted thru Lloydstsb xxx0

:AI used the online form from MSE to claim back the PPI on my credit card, it was rejected, the MSE said try again after courts overruled the banks. And Bingo I recieved final response for £1900 which I recieved two weeks after approx. I then got more letters from LTSB offering payment for old Loans, totalling £3000 approx, all good. Recieved 2 payments, thought all going well. But the biggest payment for £2105 is now 180 days and I am still waitng for Lloyds to pay:(. Several phone calls, letters, emails and several stories from the call centere and I still wait, the bank thinks they control you. The money is there to reclaim so don't let banks like LTSB get away with the injustice of selling. Gentlemens aggreement from LTSB is 28 days,so as yo can imagine I am getting pretty annoyed with them and just want others to reclaim what is rightfully theirs not the LTSB Bonus Paid managers. Good Hunting.0

Hi,
Can anyone tell me if its possible to get PPI back from a company that is now dissolved??? It was Highway Premium Finance in 2004.
Thanks0 -
Hi I am about to start the process with amex ,,, can I poss see the reply they sent you pls? feel free to pm me. Many thanks
I got one after a couple of weeks telling me they were dealing with my claim, then another a few weeks after that saying they accept no liability for me taking out the ppi (i applied online) and they were sorry for the mis-understanding (at this point i thought i was getting the brush off). But the letter then went on about their "good will" gesture of repaying all money with interest so long as i signed a form to accept this and took it no further (covering their behinds). It also says that any money claimed on the policy and any money still to pay on the account would be deducted (in my case zero). All in all its taken 2 months so now i just wait for the cheque :beer:0 -
lickoloctupus wrote: »Had a reply yesterday after my first letter stating that I had paid £274.26 ppi on my mortgage and this is being repaid with interest of £266.05.This is from 1999 and on a loan attached to this where I re mortgaged and I paid £214.44 plus £184.62 interest giving a total being paid of £939.37.
Very happy but how do I know the interest has been worked out correctly.
HSBC £6800
MBNA £4900
Barclaycard £1200
Halifax £3400
Bank charges £8900.
The only down side is that the Ombudsman is refusing to upheld my claim for Marks and Spencer's store card from 1995 and personal reserve from 1999 as they are stating that
1) I had ample time to cancel the policies as they were shown as separate amounts on my statements.
2) The wording on the form I filled in was easy to understand.
3) the sales advisor did not need to have the financial acumen to sell the policy as I could understand it.
4) I ticked the box.
This does not include the £13000 I claimed back for my father in law from HSBC because he was self employed.0
