Hi BenJi 58
I am happy to hear that you have now spoken to someone to chase up your complaint.
When I spoke to Santander about both my loan and store cards I was given a ref number for the loan. They said that they were not going to send me an acknowledgement letter because they are investigating my complaint.
When I called the 0871 number about my store card they said that they had not received the questionaire I sent them and that my telephone complaint was also not on the system, but luckly for me the person I spoke to was very helpful and took my complaint again over the phone and provided me with a ref number so fingers crossed they will uphold my complaint. If you need to speak to them again ring the 0871 number this is the store cards ppi complaint number
Good luck
will contact them tomorrow0 -

hi
HSBC received my complaint on 19th March but having just called them for an update they said it was put on the system on 3rd April so that's when the 8 week time scale starts. Is this right ??0 -

I did not have details on the loan so I wrote them a letter using the template letter from this site requesting for the loan agreement. I had sent this off 5-Jan-12. I got a reply on 16-Jan-12 informing me that they did not have a record of the agreement but did give me info on how much my loan I had left to pay off (£10,865) and how much PPI I had paid to date (£6,677).
I then completed the PPI Consumer Questionnaire and sent that on 23-Jan-12. A response was received 30-Jan-12 letting me know that they were going to investigate my complaint.
13-Feb-12, I received 3 further letters with 3 other different reference numbers informing me that they were investigating the complaint.
Then on 19-Mar-12, I received 4 letters offering me payments back with 4 different sums!
I was a bit confused with this as I thought I only had 1 loan. I then recalled that I had an initial loan to which was paid off with another loan as I had gotten a better rate. I assume that my credit cards had also been included into that loan, hence the 4 offers.
I accepted all 4 offers and was paid back £24,259.54 on 13-Apr-12.
I have since paid off the loan and now 100% debt free!!
Thank you to MoneySavingExpert for the guidence and everyone whom has posted their stories!
Excellent :j  :j0 -

Burden them with what exactly?

also had sick benefits from my work

How much?

13 weeks full sick pay then half pay for further 13 weeks

How do you know it would be enough to live on?
as well as stat redundancy 2012/13 rates are based on a maximum £430 per week.
If you were 26 now and joined at 16, that would amount to a payment of 0.5 weeks per year to age 22 then 1 week per year
so 7 weeks' pay at £430 per week
£430 × 7 = £3,010

Apologies but I didn't mean stat redundancy, the company I worked for at the time offered a minimum of £25k regardless of length of time in company.
That would not go very far with all your other expenditure.

What other expenditure are you referring to?
This is not to suggest your complaint might not have merit, simply that this argument falls down.0 -
Hi all,
I have recently received word that my claim has been upheld and i am now awaiting a cheque for £1990.88. I called Halifax on 22nd February 2012, recieved the ackowledgement letter a week later and 7 weeks after my initial phone call on 10th April 2012 i recieved the offer.
The cheques are in the post and by god this i must say is the most anxious i have been throughout this whole ordeal.
Could anyone enlighten me as to whether Halifax take all of the 28 days or if there are any instances when people get cheques earlier?
Its been two weeks, so they have just 13 days remaining but the wait is terrible. It sounds greedy but when i didn't know i had a valid claim i was fine and it only cost a phone call; now i know it was succesful its great. That amount of money will give myself, my wife and the 3 kids an excellent holiday and make things a lot easier. roll on 8th May.
Thanks all. and anybody reading just thinking about claimin think no longer i just picked up the phone read out my references and told them why i was mis-sold ...... front loading, public sector employee and told it was required to obtain finance at such a young age.
AGAIN thanks to you all you are amazing :T:T:T:T:T:T:T:beer:0 -
After my £3000 win on Saturday on Lloyds TSB loans today I received another offer of £1460 for my credit card. I must say I've been very impressed with them as they have dealt with my claims in a speedy 7 weeks. I have now been able to get my life back on track and well on my way to a debt free future. Thank you everyone for all your advice. Now just waiting for the answer on an egg loan :-) xxxx0
