This is our lucky week - HSBC upheld our claim earlier ths week, but received a cheque for our Picture claim today in excess of £20k - cant stop smiling!!0

I wrote to them 8 weeks ago and it was the response day today. They have kept me updated by letter. Yes it was for a store card and the ppi was added after my application when I called to place my first order despite the fact that I explained to the Argos representative about my work sick pay, death in service benefits. Just waiting on the figure so I'll update as soon as I receive it...I also noticed how the ppi went from 0.79p fir every £100 to £1.30! Gish if only my salary increased at that rate ☺
Thank you for reply.
I wrote to them just over 2 weeks ago but still not had any response to say they are looking in to my claim. Don't want them saying they not got my claim.
Hope you don't have to wait to long for your settlement letter.0 -

I was wondering, do I need to fill in any forms? She said that I didnt need to do anything, they would do it all?
Having read some of the threads on here, people are saying they completed various paperwork, finanical odbusman forms etc?

Print off a copy of the Ombudsman's Questionnaire and carefully fill it in using the guide at the link above.
HSBC will send you the questionnaire in a few weeks regardless, so you may as well get it done now in readiness.
One phone call, with no reasons given, is definitely only the start of the work you'll have to do for your claim.
The letter you'll receive from the Bank will bear the legend "The questionnaire is a vital part of our investigation and it may not be possible to respond to your concerns without it"0 -

They won't know whether you have paperwork, so wouldn't risk opening themselves to a formal complaint to the FSA by falsifying your yearly statement.
If you're still suspicious, you could ask for a Subject Access Request (SAR). It will cost you £10 but may (depending on the age of the loan) throw more light on how it was originally structured.
Generally speaking, though, Banks don't use "tactics" where statements are concerned.
thanks for advice.
but seems strange that the statement says "no ppi" but i've just gone thought my old tsb bank statements to find that i was paying "hamilton insurance £12 a month",with the beneifical loan number as a reference on it.............and who do hamilton insurance do business for........not hard to answer that one......hfc/benifical finance.
so as i was paying "ppi" via hamilton insurance for the loan, and not with the loan directly, even though the loan number is used by hamilton.
does this mean they dont have to say that i am paying ppi on the statement????? surely they do ,dont they????0 -
Hi folks
Was after some advice regarding my recent PPI claim with Black Horse. My husband and I had a loan with this company from May 2005 until we paid it off in October 2007. Black Horse have replied to our claim form saying that they cannot access the information for this loan as it must be archived, therefore the onus is on us to find out the loan agreement number so they can investigate this further! Has anybody else out there had a similar response from any companies???? Any advice on how to tackle this?
If you can find any reference to your loan with blackhorse, such as a direct debit reference you can get your details. I only gave them the direct debit mandate details from a loan paid off in 2006. Give them a ring, it was the easiest way with me, 08448248888Shirley

I haven't seen too many egg success stories, so wanted to post this here as this site has helped me throughout the process.
What were you reclaiming: PPI against old loan
Who was the provider: Egg
How much did you get back: £3,547.24 including interest
Did you get it back after a letter or did you go to the Financial Ombudsman: Just a letter, sent to Egg on the 15th March. Received a letter yesterday saying the complaint was being upheld and they'd be sending me a cheque for the above amount in 10 - 15 days.
Thanks to all who have contributed to this for prompting me and then guiding me through the process0 -
I understand what you are saying and if they upheld they should compensate something, ring the FOS and ask them.

Good luck and let us know how you get on, it could help others.
Will do, the bank are ringing me monday as well to discuss this, will defo report back to everyone.0 -

As this is a stand alone insurance, the single premium PPI mis sell is out of the window.
Put a claim in for mis sell and send copies of the insurance you are paying, they cannot deny the PPI now given the loan number is in black and white.
I would also let them know you are not happy with the fact they misled you over this PPI and if they do not consider your complaint you will let FOS look at this.0 -
Hi All
I posted a few months ago that we were looking at claiming back ppi on loans and store cards, finally sent completed forms out 2nd April. Had acknowledgement from lloyds and Halifax. Not heard from Citi Cards,Lombard(RBS),Endevour,Santander(Loan was cahoot) storecards or Argos card. Should we have had letters of acknowledgement from them all?
If anyone was following post in October re welcome and first plus-the case is still with Fos regarding underwritter.
Give them another week to acknowledge the claims, they have 14 days to respond but take into account the day they may have received it and when it was looked at.
I am waiting with baited breath for the outcome of your FP loan, so please keep me posted.0 -

Congratulations on your win!
I'm just claiming against egg for an old loan, could I just ask what your reasons for it being missold were? And also I sent just a letter about 2 weeks ago and yesterday I received the questionnaire, did this happen with you?
Thanks.0
