  • i had a letter from barclays today detailing they have upheld my claim for my ppi on a loan however they are only paying 8% interest on it when the apr on the loan was 22%. has anyone had this and do they know if it is worth querying this?
    thanks

    Hey there,

Just wondering how long you had to wait for your acceptance letter from Barclays? I have been told over the phone that my claims are in the "decision pending" stage and that was a few days ago.

    Thanks

The 8% should be in addition to the original premuim and interest. How long has Barclays taken to uphold your complaint?
  • Hi All,

    Please could you help me?

After hearing about several people being sucessful at claiming PPI, I decided to give it a go.

I contacted my bank HSBC to find out about PPI that I had on a previous credit card dated back to 1998. They said that they couldnt go back that long ago and couldnt give me my account number. I then contacted Experian, no joy there.

My sister works for Natwest, who told me that they have to give me my account number. I tried again!

The really helpful lady on the phone said that she could give me my account number but also said that I had paid PPI on another credit card with them and a personal loan too - I wasnt aware that I paid it!!

She said that she would get the claim started, and that I would be contacted in the next 6/8 weeks.

I was wondering, do I need to fill in any forms? She said that I didnt need to do anything, they would do it all?

Having read some of the threads on here, people are saying they completed various paperwork, finanical odbusman forms etc?

I just think it seems to simple?

Any advice or personal experience with HSBC would be gratefully appreciated!:)

    Thank you X

With loan PPI the monthly PPI amount included the interest, they have given you the interest back on this at the rate you paid it.

I have tried to phone HMRC today to inform them of PPI refunds (I owe about £240 which as before they would take from my wages every 4 weeks).

Was on hold for about half an hour, no answer, do you think this is because today is Tax Day?

Also, will I get in trouble for not informing them in time for tax day or that only applicable for people who are self employed?

    Thanks
Just keep trying, they won't shoot you for being late telling them, as long as you do.
  • Hi folks

Was after some advice regarding my recent PPI claim with Black Horse. My husband and I had a loan with this company from May 2005 until we paid it off in October 2007. Black Horse have replied to our claim form saying that they cannot access the information for this loan as it must be archived, therefore the onus is on us to find out the loan agreement number so they can investigate this further! Has anybody else out there had a similar response from any companies???? Any advice on how to tackle this?

Received reply off Barclays with 6 questionnaires to fill in! As all these loans and cards have been paid off we no longer have any paperwork so filled in what we could and sent off! That was about 5 weeks ago! Is this too long to have waited for just a reply! My partner is in the navy and as these are his loans they will not discuss it with me!
They have until the 8th week of the claim to give you a final response or to ask for more time.

The claim with welcome finance suceeded and they awarded me £2700.00 BUT said that because there was an outstanding balance that amount had been held back to offset the debt. However as far as I am concerned the debt was written off in 2010 Jan and since then it has been sold on to MKDP LLP. What chance have I got? Please let me know.
When the debt was wrote off, you would have still owed them money and they are entitled to take this redress from what you owed, ring FOS to get clarification on this.

Was the Nationwide a loan or credit card, what reasons did you use for mis sell and what reasons did they reject on?.

I have been waiting almost 2 weeks to receive my 3 page rejection letter from Barclay was Egg so that I can further my complaint through the FOS.
How much longer should I wait as I have only been advised verbally that it has been rejected. Has anyone successfully claimed from Barclays was Egg?

When you receive the final response letter it will say final and you can go to FOS, not the one rejecting your claim as they may ask for more info from you

I have recently claimed for PPI on various loans and cc.

I completed the forms on here for PPI claim and sent off to Barclaycard, I have heard nothing back from them but just checked online and have seen that I have recieved a refund on my account for £440 labeled as "Refund Late Charge".

I have not claimed for the late charges although i have been charged the £12 fee many many times... :( bad me.

Has this happened to anyone else or do you think this refund is for PPI Claim?

    Many Thanks
You will need to contact them and ask what this is, it could be the 8% interest payment for the PPI,only Barclays can tell you this.
