:o Sorry, I am somewhere else today!!.

you would need proof that you paid this, you could take this to FOS and see what they say, you never know they may get you a goodwill gesture.

But surely if they have upheld the complaint - the bank should be looking compensate me in someway? They have admitted they are wrong. It's not my fault there is no proof.

Do you happen to know the FOS phone number?
  • Hey there,

Just wondering how long you had to wait for your acceptance letter from Barclays? I have been told over the phone that my claims are in the "decision pending" stage and that was a few days ago.

    Thanks

I started the process about 7 weeks ago but have been on the phone quite alot because barclays are useless! then i put a complaint in about the way i was spoken to by a member of the ppi team. hope you get some joy soon!

    Hi All
I posted a few months ago that we were looking at claiming back ppi on loans and store cards, finally sent completed forms out 2nd April. Had acknowledgement from lloyds and Halifax. Not heard from Citi Cards,Lombard(RBS),Endevour,Santander(Loan was cahoot) storecards or Argos card. Should we have had letters of acknowledgement from them all?
If anyone was following post in October re welcome and first plus-the case is still with Fos regarding underwritter.

The 8% should be in addition to the original premuim and interest. How long has Barclays taken to uphold your complaint?

I spoke to Argos today about my request for a refund of the cover safe ppi policy which I believe was mis sold to me. The lady on the telephone confirmed that my complaint was justified and they were just waiting for the calculations for redress. Has anyone else dealt with Argos and are they quick in their refund process?

Can I just ask when did you first contact Argos regarding Ppi?
Did you send by post? And was it for Argos Storecard?
    Thanks
  • What were you reclaiming: Loan
Who was the provider: Sainsburys Bank (but turned out to RBS that fielded the complaint)
How much did you get back: £6893!
Did you get it back after a letter or did you go to the Financial Ombudsman: Letter to the lender

I got sick of the cold calls about PPI and started scouting the web for a way to tell them to get bent- and I found moneysaving expert. Read the ideas and recalled that the loan arranger was extremely keen for me to have PPI- little did I know that such pressure was a no-no.

I dug out the loan documents knocking about and noted I'd paid £2.5k in PPI- So I sent them a letter with the Proforma questionairre and copies of the agreements attached.....After sending the acknowledgement letter to my old adress, 6 weeks later I get another letter to my correct adress telling me they've found in my favour and are sending me a cheque for £6894 because I actually used the second loan to partially pay off an earlier loan with the same lender (which had slipped my mind until I read the letter) so they've totted up the compound interest and payments, as well as refunding me the 'higher PPI amount that was added due to refinancing!"....

All round a major result- Me and the wife have been scraping together a house deposit for ages, and this goes a major way toward getting us out of rented accomodation!

I understand what you are saying and if they upheld they should compensate something, ring the FOS and ask them.

Good luck and let us know how you get on, it could help others.

I wrote to them 8 weeks ago and it was the response day today. They have kept me updated by letter. Yes it was for a store card and the ppi was added after my application when I called to place my first order despite the fact that I explained to the Argos representative about my work sick pay, death in service benefits. Just waiting on the figure so I'll update as soon as I receive it...I also noticed how the ppi went from 0.79p fir every £100 to £1.30! Gish if only my salary increased at that rate ☺
