"Oh that would be a different department", so I asked why not look on the computer to see whether the letter was recorded, but they do not have access to other departments records. I have insisted on a manager call-back. Will update!!!
Good god what are they doing? good job you contacted them though as you could have been waiting ages thinking this was being sorted and they have not received it!!!.
It is possible they have it, so i would wait for the manager to call you back, if they have not got this tell them you want the cost of another certificate, tell him you do not need this stress at this time.
I have finally had the "manager's call back" basically it was not worth the bother, they claim never to have had my paperwork, they do not keep records of initial contact(!!!) she has not the authority to agree to refund the cost of another death certificate. So I start again, though part of me says forget it, it's only upsetting me.0 -

I must be the only one on the planet!
I applied to claim mis-sold ppi from Nationwide. They wrote a very long winded letter to me and concluded that I was sold the PPI caim correctly! They claim that the optional credit insurance was my responsiblity to opt in or out.
I need help! What do I do now?
In another claim to Welcome finance they admited the claim BUT wrote to me and told me that the £2400.00 or so owed in PPI claim will go to offset the balance at close of the account. I am aware that the debt was written off! Do I have a case?
Help someone please.0 -

Dear Jean, Please don't give up.
This must be very upsetting for you.(how dare they, they should be ashamed of themselves)
Take some breathing space and try again when you are feeling stronger.
I'm sure everyone on this site that knows your story is 100% behind you and wants you to receive what is rightfully yours.
Take care XX0 -
Guys,
Some great results on here, the total sum people are getting back are fantastic.
Some advice please, I took out a loan in 2005 with LLOYDS TSB and settled it in 2008. I have no paper work to prove anything.
So I call them to ask if PPI was on the loan and then go from there?
I have no idea with these things and haven't got the time to read 1398 pages haha.0 -
I have an unsecured loan and mortgage with Northern Rock, I have never agreed to PPI, if this is included will it show on my mortgage statement?
Thanks in advance.0 -
Hi all
Have had a success with MBNA claiming that they used a pre ticked box for PPI. Received back just over £16k. Does anybody know if Natwest used pre ticked boxes?0 -
Hi there,
I have today received the correspondance from HSBC regarding my PPI claim, I don't know whether to accept the offer or hold out for more. My loan was over 6 years ago, I did default on the loan a few times and eventually paid it off in full in a one off payment. I had £3000 over 5 years so I am too sure if what they are offering me are correct.
Here is what I have received........
I can confirm we are now upholding your complaint..... I am unable to response directly on a case by case basis to the specific issues raised, however, I would lilke to outline how I intend to resolve the matter
In the view of our findings to ensure this matter has not financially disadvatange you, I propose to offer the amont of £340.46, this figure will effectively return the protection premiums you paid along with an element of interest.
Does this seem correct for the amount I borrowed with the term of the loan??? Any advice welcome....
Thank you
Ryan0
