Woo hoo - HSBC have just sent a letter upholding my claim on a loan from 1996! Made 1 phone call late Feb and they have offered me £797.54!!
Just need Deloittes to get moving on my Picture complaint now0 -
I have had an offer today of £1.5k on an M&S card I had between September 1998 and I cancelled PPI on it on 1/1/11. They have agreed I have been mis-sold and have calculated my premiums at £907 for the period which I think is around about correct looking at my statements. They have also offered contractual interest of £317 and 8% statutory at £296. Can anyone tell me if this sounds right or how I can check this?0

Just to let you all know that as Lloyds promised the money was in our bank on the 13th April, making it a very lucky friday the 13th for us:j.WTG kirdaz :T life changing indeed, so happy for youJust wanted to share our great news about our PPI claim and tell others how easy it was and if they haven't already filled the forms out...then what are you waiting for!
We visited our branch of Lloyds as this is were my husband has banked for years, and they kindly printed off every loan with account number and dates that he had ever had and there were quite a few!
I then printed the form from Lloyds website, completed it and sent it recorded delivery, this was in January.
Within a couple of weeks we had a letter to day that they were looking into one of the loans and 2 letter saying that there were no PPI on them, which we couldn't remember which had and which hadn't so I wrote down every loan number on the form.
We then had a letter on March 10th telling us that we had been awarded £1615 which we were thrilled about.
The cheque then came about a week later:)
Then this week we had another 9 letters to say we had been awarded a further total of £17,951 :j so we have managed to claim a total of £19,566.53 with no help from any agencies so the money is all OURS
Good luck to anybody out there trying to claim and I hope you are as successful as we have been x
Now waiting for the money to go into the bank, will keep you posted on how long that takes.0 -
received an offer from Halifax today for mortgage PPI and Credit card PPI together worth £5433.49, I honestly didn't think they were going to make an offer as it has been investigated and they were auto paying. I did have several loans with them before 2006 which I will now SARS to see if these to had PPI.
They have said that they will pay the cc ppi back to the card good luck with that.. I paid it off years ago!!! thank you everyone on here for their advice and for the template letter
Hi there, just wondering if you could tell me how long you waited for your final response from halifax and when your mortgage was from. I have been waiting six weeks now for halifax ppi response from 2001 - 2005. thanks. Well done on your claim!0 -

My credit card ppi claim was upheld at 6 weeks. I got my offer letter from Halifax in after 6 weeks and the cheque came the following week. Was all done very quick. Hope this helps.0 -

Forgot to say my credit card went back to 19980 -
What were you reclaiming:
HSBC £10,000 loan
Who was the provider:
HSBC
How much did you get back:
£2,261
Did you get it back after a letter or did you go to the Financial Ombudsman:
8 weeks exactly - only the bank
And then write your brief reclaim tale.
Found all the papers while having a clearout, I paid £1,400 PPI. Copied all the papers, completed the Financial Claim form.
Claimed on the basis that as a police officer I can't be made redundant, I have additional sickness insurance through work covering me for 12 months and as a previous cancer sufferer I would be unlikely to get paid out through illness any way.
Sent things off recorded post. Had a sense of dread when I was then sent a Financial questionaire to complete, the same as I had included originally. SO I began to believe delaying tactics were setting in already. Then a letter indicating time scales and three weeks later the offer as quoted above.
As this offer was well within the timescales they quoted I was wondering if I was being artfully led to making a rushed decision.
I am going to accept though.:T0 -
Just thought id share my succes, I put a claim into Barclays back in June, they told me I did not have ppi which I knew was wrong, called the call centre and they confirmed I did and was not sure why I was told I didn't, so the case he started, I chased every month to be told we are still looking at it, hmmm, ok Ill call again, back in march I spoke to another call handler who advised he would chase my case up just like others had said, after speaking to him 2 days later the postman brought my letter of joy £8900 was my refund, my patience paid off,
After this I thought lets try MBNA again I completed the same form, popped a first class stamp on it, within 7 days I was advised I would hear from them within 28 days 2 weeks later, mr postie comes with a 2nd letter of joy £6978, I had to wait 28 days for my cheque in the post, with 25 days I had it.
I have shared my storey with lots of friends and I hope they are as successful as I was,0 -
