On your advice I rang, I have just been told that "they have no record of having received anything from me" I pointed out that they had written to me (02/03/12) and requested the Certified Death Certificate, along with a covering letter and a form for completion, so I had to be on a record somewhere. "Oh that would be a different department", so I asked why not look on the computer to see whether the letter was recorded, but they do not have access to other departments records. I have insisted on a manager call-back. Will update!!!
    :mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

 Good god what are they doing? good job you contacted them though as you could have been waiting ages thinking this was being sorted and they have not received it!!!.

It is possible they have it, so i would wait for the manager to call you back, if they have not got this tell them you want the cost of another certificate, tell him you do not need this stress at this time.
  • Thought I would share my success with you all to encourage people to claim.
I claimed against PPI Payments on a Natwest credit card and was awarded £550 compensation as I couldn't use the product sold when I was ill from work for a length of time. I simply filled out the Ombudsman questionnaire and sent it to the address listed on this site. I received the offer of a goodwill payment about 4 weeks after I sent them details.

I also claimed against Lloyds TSB for PPI on a loan which I had taken out with them about 8 years ago. I simply filled in the questionnaire and again sent it to the address listed on this site. I had 1 phonecall from them to clarify a few details of my illness and sick period from work and have today received a letter from them and they have awarded me £12,382.30 in compensation, this includes refunds of all PPI payments and 8% interest. They have actually included every loan I took out with them over a 13 year period as they were all linked to one bank account.

I am ecstatic right now and would encourage anyone to do it!!!!:j:T:j:T:j:T

I am still awaiting a reply from Santander and Lloyds regarding Credit Card PPI claims too!!!

Thank you, my reason for concern is that I had to send Col's Death Certificate and it was the last one I have (you need so many), sent on 26th March

    Hi Jean

I see our amersall responded to you and I would have suggested the same.
What a lot of stress this is for you, you do not need this.

I would also as amersall suggests ask them for the cost to cover the certificate, for a start they should realistically have kept this on file from before.

    Xx

    Hi there

What exactly did they say in words?

Defending would normally mean backing you.

  • i original looked at the lloyds website re reclaiming ppi and was faced with a huge form asking for information i had no idea about.

So i called the loan company, they confirmed my loan amount, confirmed that i had indeed had ppi on the loan (i wasn't 100% if i did) they also gave me the loan reference number.

When i called the number to reclaim ppi the call was answered straight away, i stated i wanted to reclaim my ppi, they took my basic details, (name address and loan reference) they asked why i thought it was missold, i said i felt i was preasured into getting it.

they replied no problem we have logged your complaint and you will reiceve a letter from us within 6 weeks confirming the outcome.

total call time - 10 minutes.

4 weeks later i received a letter confirming i would be repaid my ppi plus interest.

not a bad result for a 10 minute phone call, no forms filled in or letters sent.

Just want to make sure on this really, if they say they are defending Cap One, then they are backing them, of if defending your complaint that should mean they agree with you and will uphold in your favour.

Was it a letter or word by mouth (on the phone)? x
