Hello everyone
I previous had a loan with Lombard which was repaid in 2008, can I still make a claim as I have not got paperwork. Does anyone know who I would write to.
I also have a MBNA card which I have now cancelled the ppi on. I wrote to them for a copy of the agreement & on the form I have ticked for ppi can I still make a claim
thanks0 -

However, if Bank staff were present and pressured you into ticking the box then that's a different issue..I previous had a loan with Lombard which was repaid in 2008, can I still make a claim as I have not got paperwork. Does anyone know who I would write to.

Please, I need some help with this.
On the 5 December 2011 I put in one of 2 claims to HSBC. One claim was rejected of which I am taking up with the ombudsman. The other ciaim dates back to October 1999. This is the response HSBC gave to that claim:
I have now completed my investigation into the issues you have raised. Whilst I do not accept the allegations you have set out, on this occasion I am prepared to settle your complaint, without any admission of liability.
As a result of my decision, it is not my intention to respond specifically to the individual issues that you have raised other than to explain how I intend resolving the matter.
Please note HSBC Bank plc is only required to retain information on your accounts for 6 years. Therefore unfortunately, we are unable to calculate any compensation unless you can provide evidence in the form of the Loan Agreement Form showing the APR, loan amount and policy premium as well as statements showing Payment Protection Insurance (PPI) on your account for the time the policy was in force. Please forward any additional evidence to HSBC Bank plc.
I have already sent HSBC statements from 1999 showing exactly when the loan amount was paid into my account and they also show the PPI lump sum amount (£719). I cannot find the other documentation they are asking for to support my claim.
I phoned HSBC today to ask for an update on my claim. They have acknowledged receipt of my statements but require APR and the date when the loan was paid off. Again neither of which I can find.
What I do have is an HSBC pre-approved loan letter from 21st May 1999 which has a breakdown of interest rates for specific loan amounts. I also have the Personal Loan Protection Plan Policy Document (Blue Book) but strangely there no figures in it! Just sets out benefits, terms and exclusions.
Firstly, do I contact HSBC in writing again to give me the information they require knowing full well they aren't required to do so? Or do I skip them and take this to the ombudsman as well?
After reading the various forum posts and information on this site about PPI claims that are more than 6 years old, I feel that HSBC are being very awkward. I think they hold all the cards and are unwilling to play their hand to resolve this quickly.
Any advice would be much appreciated.0 -

You could try writing one more time telling them you will otherwise go to the Ombudsman.0 -

Can I reclaim PPI if the policyholder has died (eg, parent / husband / wife)?
Yes. Any monies owed become part of their estate, so the person who inherits is entitled to reclaim. If there's no will this follows the rules of intestacy, see HMRC. Yet it's worth noting there may be problems proving what happened at the time of the sale if only the policyholder was present.
If they were loans and you have the agreements then see if the PPI was added to the loan and paid back over the loan term with interest, if it was then this is front loaded PPI and is the most upheld of all PPI reclaims.
Use this as a reason for mis sell.0 -

My complaint was upheld!!!:j
My reasons for complaint were that I was pressured into accepting the PPI on the original loan and on each subsequent one. These policies were then front-loaded onto each consolidation, so effectively a loan-on-a-loan-on-a-loan!
On the most recent one (2007) I was told quite candidly that the loan wouldn't have been approved without PPI and that they had to set up a "special" policy because I wanted to pay back over 8 years.
All I did initially was visit this site and copy off a few questionnaires. I sent them three questionnaires originally because that was all I still had paperwork for. Imagine my surprise when I received a letter in reply detailing two other loans which I otherwise would not have complained about!!!
It was then that I joined this Forum (because I thought the two other loans weren't mine) and Cappo convinced me that not only were they mine, but the front-loading of them was a definite "win".
I sent off two other questionnaires, filled in very minimally (I didn't even know the dates of these) but with the same complaint reasons as the others..
Well, eight weeks later and I'm almost £20K better off.
Very great thanks to Cappo, Di2004, Amersall and the other regulars here.
Never fear, I'll still be around for advice to others in the same boat as I was. I don't know if I'll ever reach 55,000 posts, though!and good for you for "keeping with this" :rotfl::rotfl::p

mine is up on friday with HSBC, I gave them a cheeky phone call today to see what was happenin, but it still was in line for quality checking...I was so patient for 7.5 weeks, but talk about to the wire. Northern rock, nram said it would be 14 weeks and came back to me in 3 weeks!
Although not expecting anything like you, 3 small loans, prob looking at around 1500 with interest on it- however I also have a claim for my credit card with them,.
Same reasons as you gave, so keep fingers crossed.0 -

Note that it took five days to arrive.
Best of luck!0
