  • First direct asked for the standard form to be filled in. I had been with them since 94 but did not have the copy of the forms. Three loans two successes and one gesture of good will which was a surprise. The gesture was only £400 approx but hey add to the £4400 from the others that means total in last 6 months total £15000. All with one call or one form. The only one still to retackle is BoS credit card. Gave them wrong number and cannot find correct one but got to go to bank and should get it there. Go on do it! It works.:D

Hi I take it the MBNA one was the Cedit Card. I'm awaiting a call back from someone after cancelling my PPI with them today. Can I ask how the conversation you had went? I'm not looking forward to the callback.

    Cheers
They were excellent no hard questions just say why u had to complain ie covered by work or had pre existing conditions. Hope it worked for u. Been in hospital sorry for delay

Like you I have been with Lloyds for almost 20 years and they PPId me to the hilt even on my overdraft! I consider myself one of their best customers
Lloyds are very frustrating to deal with, they make it up as they go along.
I assume that they acknowledged receipt of your email with your statements? Don't forget that Lloyds were the number one PPI perpetrators!!
Very important to remain positive armed with a little patience.
Best of luck and lupdate us on your progress :-)

Actually they did not acknowledge receipt of my emails after a week i had to ring them up to see if they had them ( was not amused )
will see what happens after this week , as this is end of there so called 12 week period .

However not so lucky with MBNA cc that was taken out some years ago. that has been an utter farce! Said letters had been sent but we haven't had them, contacted them again and they said fill in the enclosed form, no form. So had to wait for that to arrive. Returned it via recorded delivery. Letter arrived stating that PPI was taken out on feb 2012? And as we hadn't sent back the required info, plus they insist my hubby took out PPI of his own accord, no mis selling they are rejecting our claim....wondering how they came to that conclusion when they state they haven't received any info back from us....thing is the PPI amounted to as much as either his minimum payment or interest, can't remember which but know it was crippling us. So much so that we took out a loan to pay the balance in full.

Next step the ombudsman I suppose.,, fingers crossed we get a good outcome

I've had similar experience with MBNA. Sent letter by recorded delivery on 22 Feb and still not a word from them. Rang them on 19 Mar to ask if they'd received my letter. After speaking to 2 different staff at length I was finally told the complaint had been registered on their system and they'd issued an acknowledgement letter on 1st March (to an address I've never lived at) said they'd now re-send letter to correct address. Whilst on phone told them I also wanted to reclaim the PPI as it was missold to me - I never needed it as I always had other cover. They registered that & told me they had 8 weeks to deal with this and I replied I was aware of that but almost 4 wks had passed and I'd heard nothing! As of today - still no word and no sign of the above letter that they said they would re-issue to the correct address! I won't let them away with this - it is shambolic.

    Debt-free and Proud!
Had to come on and let you know about my recent success - i just received an offer of just over £900 from First Trust Bank for a loan i took out of £5000 a few years ago. They were extremely quick and even sent me an update letter after 2 weeks saying they were still investigating. All in all it took just 5 weeks for them to make the offer - my response has been posted today and i look forward to getting the money through :)

Oh just to say i used the form and guidance from Martin and it was pretty straight forward. I have now completed a form for a credit card ppi i had with BoS which started in 1989 - will be interesting to see what they say!

  • lloyds tsb ppi reclaim!!!
hi guys great thread. im new here so plese be patient with me as i need some advice on where to go next with my claim.

i opened a dispute with lloyds tsb on feb 7th over the phone with their dedicated ppi team and in that phone call i told the advisor that i wanted to complain about the restrictions and limitations on my ppi when i took out the policy as i was self employed at the time. they didnt ask me any questions about how long i had been self employed and didnt tell me of any limitations should i need to make a claim. I also insited that i wanted to complain about the manner in which the policy was sold to me as i asked the sales person if i needed the ppi and she said that i would "need" it in case i became unemployed. they have since sent me a letter to tell me that they have considered all the evidence regarding my claim and that they are unable to uphold my complaint on the grounds that the features of the policy were adequately presented to me. they have based this on the fact that they gave me a policy summary booklet. however not being a legal expert a lot of the jargon in this booklet is very confusing and not completely transparent.

here is a quote from the letter i have recieved

"the documentation provided both at the point of sale and after purchacing your ppi policy, such as the policy summary and policy booklet, fully explained the benefits and limitations of this policy. Iam also of the opinion that this was brought to your attention at the time of sae"

no i cant understand how someone sitting in an office at lloyds head office can have an opinion on a sale that occured face to face between me and a branch staff member when they werent present at the time?

i was thinking of asking lloyds for a copy of my origonal policy terms and policy summary along with any information that they have used in coming up with this response before persuing this any further as when i spoke to them yesterday they said that i should contact the ombudsman and i want to have all necessary info and evidence available before continuing. any advice would be greatly appreciated and soory about being so long winded about it all.
