Who was the provider. HFC
How much did you get back. £6274.88
After letter or via the Ombudsman. 1 phonecall and Ombudsmans letter
Breif tale. I saw this site and read averything I could about PPI reclaiming and then had a go myself.
I couldn't believe it when, after a phone call and their Ombudsmans form, and about a month going by I got a letter saying they had upheld my complaint and would deposit the amount in my account.:D No mess, no fuss. Haven't got the money yet, just waiting.
Go on, you know you want to so why don't you? DIY PPI reclaiming, I mean;)
Regards and thanks for the advice from this forum.
not so very, anymore

Got a letter yesterday from RBoS about a Sainsbury;s cc offering me 2K+. you need to do nothing to accept this offer and we will put a cheque in the post as soon as poss. Yeah, OK I thought. Imagine my surprise when in the mail today the cheque was there!!! .Needless to say it went straight in the bank!. Also had a look at my online bank account and the 6k+ form HFC was there as well. What a great weekend.
I have had a word with the wife and we have decided to make a donation to a charity.
I can't believe how excited we are.

Sorry for posting on this forum but I'm not getting any response from the credit card charge one. I have received my statements from Argos and they have included a copy of my application form which states that for late payments etc they will charge £17.50 despite this can I still go ahead and try and claim my money back0

Hi it's due to charges applied to my Argo account, I have posted on the other forum but it's not getting any response and I know there are always people available on this one0 -
If you think they are unfair charges, then it will not cost you anything to put a claim in and see what happens.0

Just read your other post, if they made you aware of these charges from the opening of the account, you may struggle with this, but for the cost of a stamp it may be worth going for it.0 -
We bought a computer way back and took out the finance with HFC. The letter we recieved when taking out the finance stated PPI would be added, luckily we keep all sorts, so had the original letter. Result! Awaiting a cheque for just over £300.
However not so lucky with MBNA cc that was taken out some years ago. that has been an utter farce! Said letters had been sent but we haven't had them, contacted them again and they said fill in the enclosed form, no form. So had to wait for that to arrive. Returned it via recorded delivery. Letter arrived stating that PPI was taken out on feb 2012? And as we hadn't sent back the required info, plus they insist my hubby took out PPI of his own accord, no mis selling they are rejecting our claim....wondering how they came to that conclusion when they state they haven't received any info back from us....thing is the PPI amounted to as much as either his minimum payment or interest, can't remember which but know it was crippling us. So much so that we took out a loan to pay the balance in full.
Next step the ombudsman I suppose.,, fingers crossed we get a good outcome0 -
Hi
Hopefully you will receive something useful amongst your SAR paperwork when it comes back, but other than that, I take it then you had taken out a mortgage cover out elsewhere to protect your mortgage - with not being aware at the time the lender may have already added one to the mortgage too?
Yes, I had taken a mortgage cover out with Provident.
While awaiting my SAR, I decided to phone Abbey up to ask why they sent me the agreement for the first Loan only and no agreement for the second borrowing. Still no satisfactory response apart from the fact that, the account number which they have has only that agreement.
If on receiving the SAR, I do not see an agreement whereby I agreed to take another 45k from them, could I sue them for making me pay for an additional Loan which I never took? I have proof by way of my annual mortgage statements that I was paying for Loan 1 and Loan 2. Since they have no proof of me ever applying for Loan 2 - dthis could me I was erroneously charged for something I never took. Mind you, they agree that they can see a Loan of 45k taken out in Sept 2002, but ther is no proof of me requesting for the Loan. So how did this Loan end up being applied to my mortgage account and what were the terms.
I needed the terms in order to see if ppi was attached to th loan, but if they cannot provide the agreement, then I will have to requet to be re-imbursed with the total amount of 45k! I don't know what the response would be in this kinds of cases.0 -
Pleasant surprise in the post this morning £1,722.58 cheque from Halifax credit card - it came with a letter saying with regards to recent correspondance please find enclosed cheque as settlement. I posted my letters to them about a month ago, had a letter back within a week telling me they were looking into my complaint and then this today.
Just waiting on the other two from Halifax now - hopefully!!!!0 -
