Has anyone noticed that banks have added additional details to their offer letters following a success?

This is a quote from offer letter from Lloyds TSB

"If you are aware that you have incurred any specific losses as a consequence of the sale of your PPI policy, please let us know so tha t we may consider it further"

Has anyone taken this offer up with the bank with any success?

You may not have a specific loss for one PPI policy, but having PPI constantly on loan after loan may have incurred losses.
  • Thanks for the advice everyone. I have completed the FOS questionnaire and plan to send that with the letters to them.

I think they are doing a blanket refusal and if you really want it you have to fight for it. I'm up for that ;)

I have had refusal too. I was briefly between jobs when i had it in mid 90s. They have asked for Details of tax paid that year, so off to hmrc for details.

Just got word back this morning from Halifax, they are paying out on my credit card...... £8774.59. All it took was one letter and 5 weeks later I got my offer. Now waiting on word back from Lloyds Tsb. So happy :-)

How long did it take for Lloyds to settle since you made your complaint? Thanks

calling in a success with HSBC. They told me about the PPI when I phoned about something else, did the claim over the phone for me, and 5 weeks later I got an offer for £6527 for PPI on a loan I have no details for at all! The money was in my account within 10 days.

Brilliant service - couldn't be happier.

    Brilliant service .
Not that brilliant to my mind, after all, they admit they mis-sold you the policy in the first place!
Well done on your success, though!
What reasons did they uphold for your complaint?

Hi there, i received a letter from Natwest today offering me a 'goodwill' gesture of £919 for credit card ppi. It is roughly what I expected but I am not sure why they are calling them goodwill gestures? I am quite lucky because as mentioned on this site it has been on every single statement I have received so I could have cancelled it before now but I assumed it was something I had to have to have the credit card.

They have said they will credit this to my credit card balance, do you think I could ask for a cheque, my balance is around £200 debit so it seems weird to credit my card with it?

I am very please with this result and it only took one phonecall and 4 weeks. :-)
