Have just spoken to lloyds have have told me my claim has not been upheld as there is not enough evidence to prove I was missold ppi on my cc, she told me to wait for the letter and it will explain, this is their final response. I stated that I was not aware I had the ppi added to my payments and I had sickness benefits from work, also my partner had a good salary so would have covered payments if need be. Do I just give up or carry on fighting, I don't know what to do now, I feel like I am getting no where as had rejection from egg also, any advice would be appreciated thanks Michelle x0

Hi Michelle
Do not give up, even if a final decision, they sometimes will review on any further info you give.
My feeling is, that because its a credit card (can be a little more difficult than that of loan ppi) in my opinion, the letter will probably say something like, for example "it would still cover you for life cover/hospitalisation and job solutions etc.
But with that - again in my opinion, it DOES/DID not protect fully which is unfair to be paying for something that does not fully protect (despite the fact of it protecting maybe the one thing).
If this applies to you, you need to tell them so and ask them to reconsider.

Hi all,
Not posted on this thread before but have been encouraged no end! Complained to Santander on 27 March for PPI on Cahoot flexi loan I had between 2002- 2010. Didn't have PPI on it for long but heard today that I am getting some cash back. So not a bad turn around at all- around a week!!
Also have claim in with MBNA- who told me I was charged PPI for 4 years over the telephone, have had my t&c back and I didnt tick any box asking for it so hopefully not going to be too much hassle getting cash off them either.
Going to send off for SAR's on another 7 accounts so fingers crossed! Well done everyone and you've all inspired me to get claiming!!

can anyone help?????
We got a settlement offer today, but it falls about £5000 short of what we have actually paid out. The broker says they dont agree with the figures they got fromt he lender and have offered us short, although the lenders figures are in black and white of what we paid out!
Can they do this? They said they would give full redress to put us back into the position we would have been in had we not taken the PPI, how can reducing what we paid in by £5k do that?0 -

Hello there
Just a suggestion, I note you said that the broker say they do not agree with the figures from the lender.
What you could do is write to the lender, ask them to send you a written detailed calculation of all the PPI you paid (if you have not already done this), and send to the broker and say "this is concrete evidence from the lender, and as the policy was agreed as mis sold, you have the right to be refunded the full amount shown on the calculation".
I would also ask them on why they do not agree and request they send you their own written calculated breakdown.
It is just a suggestion really but you are in the right to receive all you have paid of the PPI, plus the relevant interest, and as they upheld in your favour, they must calculate within the guidelines of the FOS.
Did they actually state the reason on why they do not agree with the lender's calculations? The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
I was reclaiming PPI on a mortgage from Santander. I wrote 1 letter, after advice on MSE & I've just had a letter back offering me the full repayments, plus interest. A total of £725.00. Its not much, but I shouldn't have been forced to pay it in the first place.
I was made to take out PPI in 2006, as a condition of taking out a mortgage with Santander. I am self-employed, so it wasn't suitable anyway. I eventually took out the mortgage with them, as a joint applicant with an ex-boyfriend. My ex had a substantial salary and yet the PPI remained a condition of the mortgage. After the fixed rate ended, I remortgaged with Halifax, with no PPI. I rang Santander to cancel the PPI with them and the salesman talked me into to keeping & increasing in it to cover the Halifax mortgage. He said that you had to be claim-free for 2 years before the protection kicked in, and advised me to keep the PPI to cover the new Halifax mortgage. I eventually cancelled the PPI on the advice of Halifax.
I didn't realise I had any rights over this until I read the articles in MSE.
Thank you SO much!! :j0 -
Hi everyone,
I am just after a bit of general advice, I have sent all of my questionnaires off to relevant banks I haven't had a reply yet but this was only 3 weeks ago but the loans and credit cards I had PPI on were in my maiden name if they do come to a decision and offer a refund what do I do about the cheques being in my maiden name ??
Many Thanks0 -
I received a letter from mbna today stating that they had looked at my complaint and when my card was transferred to them from abbey they issued a new t & c s and I was give the opportunity to see if my requirements were met and to cancel policy
however :jas a gesture of good will they have arranged to have a refund of the premiums and interest made as follows
ppi premiums £1934.43
associated interest £2639.20
8% £256.80
total due £4830.43
I am abs delighted and have sent off a letter to abbey/santander as they have responsibility from before transfer
thanks all for your help0 -

They said something about the lenders interest rates that cost us more and they beleive that the lender is trying to screw them up! I think they are paranoid. They agreed to uphold, to put us back to the position we were in had we not been ppi'd and then when they realise how much it actually cost us, and now them, they say they dont like these figures. Well, heres a thing, I didnt like them either!0
