Hi toni66,
I informed the tax office of my PPI refund. I opted to pay it in a lump sum. They advised me to put this in writing after April 5th and then they would send me a bill. The number is o845 3000 627. I'm afraid I was waiting a very long time to speak to an advisor. Good luck0 -
I recently reclaimed my PPI from HSBC - I thought I may get back approximately £6,000 and was amazed to receive a letter offering to settle at £14,000..
It's changed my life and allowed me finally to be DEBT FREE! Thank you Martin, if it wasn't for your tweets and this website I would never have applied!!0 -

Success story here - I got cheques through in the post today to the value of £6,000 from Lloyds TSB!
I was gob smacked to get anything back really - as I only sent the form off in late January after a couple of friends were awarded PPI reclaim offers from their banks. I didn't think I would get anything as I no longer bank with them, and could only remember taking out a loan which I increased a number of times over the years, so the form I filled in and sent off was a bit vague with no account or loan reference numbers, just my home address at the time.
I then got a letter on 12 March offering me £6,000 as a final settlement. It basically said their records were also not very detailed, but I had 5 loan account numbers, all with PPI (which would be the original loan that I then increased 4 times). They offered me £1,200 per loan, so £6,000 in total, and the cheques turned up today!! Woo hoo! :j
The money is going into some savings and paying for a nice little holiday to Thailand for me and the other half in the Autumn.0 -

- What were you reclaiming: PPI Element of Total Mortgage Protection Policy
- Who was the provider: Halifax
- How much did you get back: £1516 + £585 interest (- the tax we need to pay)
- Did you get it back after a letter or did you go to the Financial Ombudsman: The Questionnaire
- And then write your brief reclaim tale
Thanks
Ps this process took only about 3 weeks0 -
Hey,
Wondering if anyone can help I had some loans back in 2004 but i dont have any of my account details they were paid off in a year. Im not sure if its worjt claiming i tried calling the companies but they didnt have my details and they dont show on my credit report.
Can anyone recommend a good PPI company to use? I know they charge fees but it will be better than nothing.
Thanks :beer:0 -
can anyone help?????
We got a settlement offer today, but it falls about £5000 short of what we have actually paid out. The broker says they dont agree with the figures they got fromt he lender and have offered us short, although the lenders figures are in black and white of what we paid out!
Can they do this? They said they would give full redress to put us back into the position we would have been in had we not taken the PPI, how can reducing what we paid in by £5k do that?
I have answered your pm
Hope you understood.0
