Hi I have been trawling through the successess of reclaiming mis-sold ppi over the last few weeks. Really inspired by the stories I've read. I put a complaint in to Black Horse about 4 weeks ago. They have responded to say they are looking into it. Just wondering if anyone has had any success from them??
Thanks
Hi gimgems,
I sent my complaint to them about 5 weeks ago now. I phoned and spoke to them on Tuesday and they told me they have not even received my complaint.
Please could you tell me which address you sent your complaint to.
Thanks0 -

Hi
Thanks to your template letters and your step by step guide to reclaiming PPI I have received a letter from my bank. With a settlement of £1,749.81 and paying off the rest of the loan.
Thank you

Hi I have received an offer from natwest for 4 payments totalling around £5000, Im not in arrears and have a loan for around 9000 outstanding. My question is will natwest deduct this from the loan or just the payment relevant to the loan as the paperwork isn't clear on this? The cover letter says that any money owed to natwest will be deducted whereas the signed forms state that any arrears will be taken off and the remainder paid into my account. As anyone had experience with natwest to confirm what they do?0

- What were you reclaiming: loan
- Who was the provider: Halifax
- How much did you get back: £1185
- Did you get it back after a letter or did you go to the Financial Ombudsman: Got it back after one letter - the form on this site
- And then write your brief reclaim tale
I advised her to reclaim PPI, and helped her fill out PPI reclaim forms for Halifax and Lloyds.
Halifax have sent her a cheque in less than 3 months after just the one letter! For a full refund of payments made and interest.
We said the reason was she didnt want the PPI but thought she would not get the loan without it.
Still waiting for Lloyds response - will post this later.0 -
I've been told over the phone that my PPI claim on two loans with Lloyds TSB hasn't been upheld and a letter is on the way. Both loans had PPI front loaded and for both loans we were never given two amounts to choose from (ie. payments with PPI included and payments without). We were simply told how much the payments would be and accepted them as basically, we were strapped for cash and wanted the money asap. We've always wanted to keep our outgoings as low as possible so have always spread loans over long terms eg. 5 years. We would never have chosen to pay something, effectively increasing our outgoings unnecessarily, had we known we didn't have to. We both have had the same employer for over 20 years with full sick pay etc.
My question is do we stand a chance with the Financial Ombusman or are we wasting our time?Success so far:
Bank charges refund plus interest: over £6000 :j
Mortgage PPI refund plus interest: over £9000 :j

Evening all, my second success, I LOVE MSE !!!!!
Sent off form to Lloyds w/b 13th February, had a letter yesterday saying they were paying me just over £4K. Just logged onto bank account and money is there.:j Sent a form off to Sainsbury's bank at the same time but have heard nothing. Sent one to Tesco CC a week later , have had 2 letters saying they're looking into it.
Keeping my fingers crossed, will hopefully soon be debt free. Thanks Martin:T
Just heard from my niece that she's trying to reclaim PPI on a credit card, unfortunately she had advice from a friend and she's using a claims company:eek: She's already started the claim so I think it's too late to go back on it.£180.00 in 'sistercas'fund
Hope is like the sun, which, as we journey toward it, casts the shadow of our burden behind us.

Do not cancel this Insurance, wait for the outcome of your claim. If you cancel now the loan will be reset with no PPI and this could increase the term and APR.
They should look at loans that were consolidated with this one, if they do not then ask them to do this, see what response you get from them first.
If they were rolled over loans then each time you settled a loan you would have been given a rebate of PPI on the first loan, the remaining PPI would have been carried over to the next loan and so on, if you win redress they give you the PPI paid on each loan then will take the rebates of PPI off this.
You will get the PPI that you have paid with interest on those payments and 8%.
They do not give compensation, only in rare cases with mitigating circumstances.

Is this life insurance or PPI that covers you for sickness redundancy etc?.
From what I understand it is PPI which covers me for sickness etc. Thank you for your advice it's been appreciated.0 -
So my letter arrived in the post yesterday i forgot to mention in my previous post that my claims date back to 1997 so anyone who thinks a 6 year period is set in stone, think again, I did have account numbers for my MBNA credit cards so i guess that helped
My Northern Rock claim is also from 2000 and should be upheld as well and should hear quite soon.
My Barclaycard claim (x 3) will take a little longer as i didnt have the account numbers for 2 of them
My Natwest claim (my bank) will also take a little longer as ive had to write off for information for a complete history of my account (4 x credit cards, 3 x loans all paid off)
All it takes is a simple phonecall and in some cases a simple form to fill in with perhaps a bit of perseverance thrown in for good measure
DO NOT LET CLAIMS COMPANIES DEAL WITH YOUR MISS SOLD PPI.0 -

Well done on your win
If you have no arrears then the redress comes to you, if the loan is still running they will take the whole PPI amount from the loan and your monthly payment will go down by the PPI amount (make sure this happens) all PPI you have paid to date will be given back to you and the 8%, this amount is taxable, if Natwest have not taken the tax off the 8% when they give you redress then if you are a taxpayer you need to inform HMRC.0
