can you demand the money back or can they deduct it off the loan
Hi there Sue
Well there are two thoughts on this. Some havetold us that we can demand it back. In reality they usually take it off the loan. Please make sure that you get all the figures on how they have settled and refinanced the loan then post it up on the Discussion thread before you accept and you have people on there like TURBOMAN who is a whizz at figures. And may link you to a queen song as well.;):mad:0 -

UPDATE:
Since my previous success with HSBC last week I have recieved confirmation today that they are upholding my complaint on the second loan, and thrown into the bargain a loan I had forgotten about and hadnt mentioned, so I will be recieving another £1189 courtesy of misold PPI.
I am frankly over the moon!
Wow! I have complained bout my current loan, 8 weeks next week fingers crossed. I have since remembered I had ppi on my prev loan with thme! I hope they throw that one in also saves me writing all over again!
Well done!!!!:T0 -
I first applied for our PPI back from this company in November using the templates from this site, I gave them untill a few days from the deadline to respond and heard nothing back, i filled out all the paperwork to take the claim to the FSA and decided to phone them 2 days prior to the dead line to see what their take on the situation was, (hoping it could be resolved without the FSA as I knew they can take a great length of time to get to each case). I found that the letter had been sent to the wrong place and was asked to resend the letter and give them a further 8 weeks, I desided to do this as even if I had a negative outcome that it was worth a shot and I still had the option of the FSA. Today I had a letter telling me although they wouldn't admit liability that I could have the £799 back for the cost of the policy plus 8% interest, which brought the sum to a grand total of £968 to be paid in my account within 10 days. Not bad for a sum of money I never thought I would see again!!!!!! Thankyou Martin, I couldn't have done it without the template letters, you deserve a knighthood for the advice you give and the money you save people. I for one am very very greatful.
