I am happy to post another success with Lloyds tsb bank, today I have recieved a letter from the FOS stating

"You will be pleased to hear that following our intervention, Lloyds TSB bank Plc has told me that although it maintains its original view, it has agreed to settle your complaint on what it describes as a 'goodwill basis"

In addition O.o Lloyds TSB has agreed to pay you £200 for any distress caused .

    YAY roughly £550 altogether then!

I'm not surprised about them not wanting to admit miss-selling but its a good day all around.

Thanks as usual to everyone here, you guys know who you are, and I thank you every time cause I know you work tirelessly to help people.

    Go martin!

Brilliant, Well done and Congratulations..... :T

    Hi all,

I am hoping someone can please give me some advice as I am unsure what to do.

My boyfriend wrote to Natwest on 5th February to tell them that he had been missold his PPI. He currently pays £440 a month for a loan he took out with them in January 08 and for each payment of £440 - PPI is £105. He asked them to cancel it too.

He has received a reply back today from Natwest - 12th March, and they have said they are unable to uphold the concerns as he had a cancellation period and was advised correctly by the colleague in the bank who sold him the loan but as a goodwill gesture if he fills in the form he can have £750 in his account very soon. The thing is, even though this is lovely news - I am not sure what to do - whether he should take the £750 or ask for the full amount which should be more like £1470.

What should we do? If we say no to £750 could they then refuse to pay anything? Should he just accept the £750?

We would be very grateful for any advice you can give us. It is a big decision and a gamble that we don't want to lose out on.

    Thank you once again,

    K xx

I called HSBC today to see any progress! Bit scared as I have heard of a couple of rejects from HSBC. The 8 weeks is up on Monday I am able to call up Monday afternoon when its all completed! Fingers crossed my stomach is churning at the same time i have butterflies! Thers is so many success stories and I think im going to be the one who gets the knock back! Ha ha x

Im appealing on the basis that the woman implied taking PPI would assist my credit application. I have also just remembers another loan I have had and I was also yold the same thing so im going to try my luck at that one too!

Think I will wait for my response on Monday first!

I did claim back bank charges Jan 2007 That came to 750.00!

    Hi Von

I am sure that it is all going to work out fine. Take deep breaths and relax. Let us know how you get on. Then we can party.

    Hi there hun

You can always write back to ask if they are willing to higher the amount first, then make a decision, I am aware this is probably a time consuming thing, where they have given you so much time to give them a response to this.

However, if your not happy you should still be able to take this to the FOS to investigate, but be prepared for a long wait.

Its up to you hun, apparently there have been some issues like this in the media over the last few weeks that this is so unfair for these finance companies just to be offering amounts on smaller offers.

Good luck with this hun, hope this goes your way.;)
