hi, i recieved a letter from halifax offering my a refund of all ppi premiums as a goodwill gesture, they stated in their letter that if i had any arrears on my account over the credit limit the funds would be used to clear that first, then any money remaining would be sent to me in the form of a cheque. I have no arrears on the card and am under my credit limit, so was expecting a cheque for the full amount. today i have checked my online statement and they have refunded the full amount back onto my account and cut my credit limit by the same amount, this is not what i wanted and not what their letter stated, any suggestions as to what steps i should take next? surely they cannot do this as it is not what they have offered in their letter?

    thanks
    Hi,

This is a classic case of the Halifax's left hand not knowing what the right hand is doing.

At the moment, Halifax are in the process of settling the complaint. The ppi team have refunded the total amount to your card. This then goes to their legal department for sign off - the legal department will then add the award back onto your card and send you the cheque - weird I know! We've had dozens of claims paid out on ppi on Halifax credit cards and they allways do the same thing.

In a couple of days you'll see that it's added back onto the card and a cheque will follow in a couple of days after that,

    Good Luck,

    TBD.

I called HSBC today to see any progress! Bit scared as I have heard of a couple of rejects from HSBC. The 8 weeks is up on Monday I am able to call up Monday afternoon when its all completed! Fingers crossed my stomach is churning at the same time i have butterflies! Thers is so many success stories and I think im going to be the one who gets the knock back! Ha ha x

Im appealing on the basis that the woman implied taking PPI would assist my credit application. I have also just remembers another loan I have had and I was also yold the same thing so im going to try my luck at that one too!

Think I will wait for my response on Monday first!

I did claim back bank charges Jan 2007 That came to 750.00!
