Could anyone tell me the very best way of approaching Lloyds with a view to reclaiming ppi on 2 loan I paid off recently. I never asked for, nor did I need PPi, but I don't really want to go to a 3rd party. I started to read thro this forum but got confused

:j Been on phone to Lloyds TSB.... Just found out we have been awarded £4074 for three loans dated 2000, 2001 and 2002 - all paid off within a year and rolled into one another.

You all have been fab, and this site has been amazing. Thanks for all the replies to my queries.

    Good luck to everyone else.

PS: Does anyone know if I can put the interest for this amount in this tax return for this year 2011/2012 or whether you have to wait until you get money. It is just I have some of my tax allowance left from this year.

Excellent news jules1973 :T Not sure about the tax situation, phone HMRC and ask ;)

  • Received a letter from MBNA yesterday about my other PPI reclaim and they have also upheld that one. They will be repaying me £877.22 by cheque within the next 28 days, made up of:

Total Amount of PPI charged since sale date: £439.65
Total amount of associated interest: £388.43 (8%)
Got to declare £49.14 to HMRC
    Total Payment to me: £877.22

    Two down, 4 to go!!

Also got my cheque today for the other MBNA for £1,105.29. Very happy so far. :T:T

Wow! Never thought I would get anything as these things don't usually go in our favour, so I beg everyone out there who is considering doing this to go ahead and do it - and do it yourselves, don't use a Reclaim Company as they will want a cut. For the price of printing a letter and postage it is so worth it. Good luck to anyone who has just taken the plunge. This website has been so very helpful.
Always looking for a good deal :money:
  • Hi. I was looking for a bit of advice if at all possible. I have lodged a mis-selling complaint against Lloyds covering a total of 4 loans which I took out during the 1990’s.

On contacting the Lloyds claim line I provided the main reason for my complaint as being the fact that for all 4 loans, I was only ever provided with one monthly payment figure (which obviously included PPI) and not a monthly figure with and without. As such, they have recorded the main reason as ‘I was not made aware that cover was optional’.

My query relates to whether the above reason is sufficient for a claim or whether I need to elaborate. For all 4 loans, as stated above I was not provided with a monthly figure which included or excluded the cover but just the one monthly amount. I know for a fact that PPI was never explained to me nor were any questions asked relating to my personal circumstances etc. Also, I was in full time employment with generous sick/accident cover (6 months full paid reducing to half pay). Should I contact Lloyds and elaborate on these additional reasons or just leave it as it stands?

The reason I need this advice is that I would hate to think that just because Lloyds have not recorded all my reasons for my complaint, this may affect my claim. Am I being too fussy? Do Lloyds generally settle anyway?

Hello, not knowing it was optional is misselling. If you are worried, do call them and say that you just want to make sure they are aware of your circumstances at the time you took the loans; that way you know that you have covered all bases.
    Good luck:)

If you have the account number and reasons for mis sell then put the claim in, you can do this by letter or telephone.

    http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/reclaim/ppi-loan-insurance#step2

If you paid one monthly payment to this loan then the PPI was front loaded, this was a loan on the loan that you paid back to term end with interest, use this as the main reason for mis sell.

It is that easy !! if you need anymore help just ask.
