Received my cheque yesterday from Lloyds TSB. Posted my claim forms to them in mid January, and had an offer back at the end of February. So in total it has taken 9½ weeks. Just waiting for another cheque from Citi Financial, expected any day now as they promised payment within '10-15 days'.
Well chuffed, and now well on the road to becoming free of debt :jSearch for Crunchy's Debt Deletion Diary... Updated daily (ish...)Challenges 2012:Sealed Pot 5: #15832 Stone / 2 Grand / 4 Months: Start 02/01/12 - 0st 6lb / £1028.47 - End 01/05/120 -

Really chuffed today. Just got in to find a letter from HFC upholding my claim and offering me full redress including 8%.
Total just over £3000. Thanks to all who advised me. Hope my other 2 claims are as successful.:j:j:j0 -
Just received a letter from Black Horse Finance, the have upheld my complaint and will be paying me my money back. I am expecting £4.5k back. I have just sent my acceptance letter back to them. Not sure how long it takes for the money to be put in my bank account.0

Hi
I have had 4 or 5 loans from Lloyds TSB in the years since 1993. I can clearly remember being told by the manager that:
a) The interest rate would be higher without PPI
b) I may not be accepted for the loan without it.
During the time I took the loans my employment situation varied between full time, temping and student, so i'm not sure if the PPI would have been worth anything, even if i'd wanted it.
I've found the agreement forms for 2 of my loans.
One in 1999 has a PPI component of 1716.90 on a 7500 cash loan.
Another in 2003 has a PPI component of 1320.84 on a 2257.36 cash loan.
I can remember that i was constantly taking new loans to consolidate the previous, but my balance never seemed to decrease. Could have been the accumlation of the PPI payments!
My questions are as follows:
1. Based on my memory of what I was told re PPI when applying, do I have a case for refund?
2. Will my bank be able to provide details of all loans i've had with them, whether they had PPI, their terms, etc. Or will they only provide loans that have completed in the last 6 years?
Thanks in advance for any advice. I was in University doing a degree, then had various jobs, then Uni again for a Masters which is my excuse for my poor financial situation back then. I'm glad to say I am much better with money these days, although not necessarily richer. Many thanks to everyone on these forums!0 -
Thank you so much for your website and help on PPI. Originally wrote to Natwest to ask for refund and they replied with an ex gratia offer of £996. Followed the steps on your website including involving the Financial Ombudsman. 1 year later full refund plus interest £1,960. Am so grateful to you - thank you.0

Hi northWalesMoneySaver,
Not only do your points a) & b) count as reasons but also and more importantly the fact that the PPI was "upfront, single premium" This is the most upheld form of PPI so you should get claims in for the two that you have paperwork to support.
With a bit of luck these two may link to the others as they were all re financed. Get the ball rolling on these two and see what response you get. DON'T forget the upfront single premium reason for mis sell, it's a big NO NO as far as the FOS are concerned.
If the response doesn't include the others, report back and we could try suggesting another approach with regards to them. Good luckSuccesses
